Périgueux has many interesting shops, an old quarter and Roman remains with a spectacular museum. The river trip on the Dordogne at Bergerac is well worth visiting as are the monolithic church at Aubeterre, the pre-historic caves at Lascuax, the château at Bourdeilles, the town of Sarlat and the cognac producers in the Charentes. The Friday market in Riberac is one of the largest in the Dordogne
