'Festivals'
"There are street festivals throughout the summer. Most villages hold a fete and these are great fun. There are jazz festivals in Monsegur, Le 24 Heures du Swing, Aiguillon, Villeneuve sur Lot and famously at Marciac. Also free weekday concerts at Bergerac and Villeneuve. Monflanquin, a beautiful village, hosts many activities for adults and children, as does Eymet. Visit the local tourist offices for up to the minute information. "

'Le Moulin d'Ane'
"Gourmet restaurant just 2km along the lane. Approx 10 minutes from Marmande. It has changed hands and proved to be very popular with good food. The service is a little too camp for some!. The clientele is mostly French at lunchtime with a more cosmopolitan crowd in the evenings. Sit out in the conservatory above the stream and watch the sun go down."

'Le Vieux Porche'
"Something of a local institution. Very busy all year round and in the summer is a firm favourite with visitors. Excellent value for money, family cooking. Don't come if you are in a hurry, just sit back and let the evening unfold. Child friendly, with an 11 Euros daily menu including wine. Some people eat here virtually every day of their holiday. "

'Sports'
"Canoes can be hired on the Dropt at Eymet or Allemans or at countless spots along the Dordogne. Take a picnic and enjoy an unforgettable experience. There are bikes for hire, enjoy the quiet lanes and explore at your leisure. Golf courses welcome the summer visitors, try Langon, Tombeboeuf, Marmande and Castlejaloux. The lake there also has a swimming area and waterslides. Plenty of shade under the pines."
