Situated in glorious rolling countryside south of Bergerac, this magnificent 12th century Priory has been sympathetically converted into gite accommodation for 8 people. All the accommodation is of a very high standard. There are wondeful views of fields of sunflowers, prunes and hazelnut groves. Les Arbieux is within easy walking distance of the small village of Sauvetat-sur-Lede and close to the Bastide village of Monflanquin and the busy market town of Villeneuve-sur-Lot (both 7km). Both the ancient Bastide towns of Villereal and Monpazier are within an easy 30 minute drive.

Exploration of the beautiful history of the region includes the great feudal castle of Château de Biron, and near to Cahors is the spectacular town Rocamadour built into the cliffs.

Les Arbieux has retained its original features and the very essence of the past with its charm and character of massive stone walls, exposed beams, flagstone floors. It has full central heating and there is a wood burning fire in the lounge and a traditional bar in the dining room.

Gite Accommodation (situated on the ground floor). Family bedroom with king size double bed and 2 adult size bunk beds, en suite bathroom with shower cubicle and bath. Double bedroom, king size bed and adjacent bathroom.

Lounge with bed-settee, dining table and chairs. Modern entertainment consul, lcd television, mini hi-fi, video/dvd player and comprehensive film library.

Essential conveniences include a hydro-shower, cooling ceiling fans in all bedrooms. Fully-fitted new kitchen with gas cooker, microwave/grill and fridge-freezer. Washing machine. Bed linen and towels provided.

Hot summers will enable you to take full advantage of the 11 metre odourless salt-water swimming pool set in secluded and completely private south facing garden planted with mature Mediterranean plants and surrounded by 3 terraces.

In the heat of the day a large mulberry tree provides a shady haven along with the spacious decked terrace adjacent to the pool. Sunloungers, inflatable toys and a warm fresh water shower are provided and for the more energetic table tennis is available. The bbq terrace and outdoor dining area are subtly illuminated for al fresco relaxing in the evening overlooking the pool and outstanding views.

There is a swimming lake at Cancon 12km, horse riding at Monflanquin and golf at Castlenaud 8km, fish or canoe on the River Lot or the Dordogne. The area is ideal for walking and cycling. Many spectacular fêtes and festivals take place in the summer and we give full information on these.  Restaurants abound in the area from family run establishments full of local colour and ambience, to the most sophisticated that your palate can desire. There is a place and a price to suit everyone.
