Château (Grande Gite) 12 Bedroom Chateau (AT002344)

Le Château de Rodié is an ancient Fortress (Xl century) and organic farm set in 134 acres of nature reserve, in an unspoilt valley on the borders of Agenais. Lengthy restoration work has produced a comfortable home with large bedrooms, spacious living rooms and a large fenced pool.

The self catering accommodation (Grande Gite) sleeps up to 30 and is very suitable for groups of family and or friends, for family reunions, small weddings, special anniversaries etc. Also very suitable for group holidays for artists, ornithologists or groups interested in history (the area is rich in history with many Bastide villages to visit). The groups have exclusive use of the château with 7 en suite bedrooms (each one with an individual style) and a large kitchen equipped with professional cooker, sink etc. There is a good caterer nearby for those groups wishing to use this service. 

The pool is for the exclusive use of the group. Guests can wander in the extensive meadows and woodlands and discover wild plants, bird life and pond life.

The farm is mainly sheep (the ancient Landais breed of Aquitaine) but we also have a selection of farmyard animals, ducks, geese, doves, chicks, rabbits and a few goats and a donkey. All of these are whenever possible old Aquitaine breeds, which we help to conserve. We the owners are on-site for the farm and general maintenance, but our apartment is totally separate from the château.

This area of South West France has much to offer. Bastides (fortified medieval towns), castles, caves. Museums for foi gras, prunes and other traditional fare. The beautiful coutryside is ideal for walking, cycling and there is horse riding, canoeing and kayaking locally.
