Burn off the calories with sandcastle building, horse riding, golf, karting, quad biking, a steam train ride, sea or river fishing, waterparks, kayaking or just simply relax in the sunshine.

Even if it rains there is always the aquarium, zoo and indoor fun pools!!!

Owners Recommendations

Eating Out

'Coastal restaurants'
"From Perros Guirec to Binic, great restaurants for all tastes/budgets. The crepe or galette is the local speciality. Les Islandais in Paimpol for great grills and seafood. Creperie Agapanthe is dangerous for the waistline! In St Quay Portrieux we highly recommend The Victoria - great value lunchtime set menu, pizzas for the kids and a sophisticated but not over pricey evening selection. Binic has a great choice of eateries overlooking the beach. Fruits de mer is king here so look out for the specials boards. There is a good pizzeria/creperie in Lanvollon, La boissiere caters for fine diners but also does a good set lunchtime menu. "

Local Area and Activities

'Amoripark - Waterpark and Activity Centre'
"Great day out for kids, small and big! The toboggan run is always popular, pedalos, swimming pools - indoor and out, waterslides, trampolines. Picnic area and snack bars. Well organised and very safe."

'Go-karts/Quads/Paintball'
"Enough said!! Paintball is new for this year but the other activities are reasonably priced and bags of fun."

'Ile de Brehat'
"Just 20 minutes drive from Kerherve, an island with no cars, accessible by a ferry, is well worth a day out. "

'Oceanopolis - Brest'
"An aquarium to rival even that of Sydney (and I've seen both!). Good rainy day out and lots of other activities to keep children amused"

'Sea Shanty Festival'
"In Paimpol - early August. Three days of history of the Bretons and the sea, all washed down with quite a lot of Breton cider and crepes!!"

'St Malo'
"The most visited place in Brittany! Head for the ferry port and you will see the walled area (intramuros) in front of you. Packed with restaurants, ice cream shops and fabulous views. St Malo has a great aquarium and great shopping. About 1.5 hrs drive"

'The Little Steam Train'
"A great day out for all. A 1900 steam train takes you on a trip from Pontrieux to Paimpol through forests and past the "local" chateau. You can stop off for cider and crepes in the woods and spend a while in Paimpol. "

'Tregomeur Zooparc'
"Conservation of endangered species is the priority. Animals have been rescued from other less "pc" zoos and placed in a much more natural environment. "

Markets and Shopping

'Paimpol Market'
"Tuesday morning. Great selection of food stalls. Fresh (very!) fish/shellfish. Local fruit/veg producers, often organic - with strawberries, cherries, tomatoes. Plenty of cafes on the harbour to pit stop and watch the world go by. "
