L'Hirondelle 3 Bedroom Cottage (BN000404)

This beautiful house is ideally located at the edge of the charming village of Le Cambout. A traditional Breton house that has been recently refurbished to a high standard and has many modern facilities yet still retains the natural charm of a French house.

The ground floor comprises a lounge area, with deep soft settees, wooden floors and beamed ceiling. There is a traditional logburner set in a fireplace that is full of character. Also in the lounge area is the television, which receives English tv channels, so you need not miss any episodes of your favourite tv show. In addition there is a dvd and video player as well as a small selection of tapes for you to watch. Off the lounge is the kitchen with space for informal dining.

The fully equipped kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave large larder fridge, and space enough for a breakfast dining area. Leading off the kitchen is the formal dining area with its large Breton traditional table and buffet, comfortable chairs and beamed ceiling. It is just the place to spend many hours sampling the fine cuisine of the area and sipping French wine whilst discussing plans for the next day of your holiday, and reliving the events of the day.

All the 3 bedrooms are on the first floor. The master bedroom has a super king size bed, a large Breton carved wardrobe, as well as drawer space, full length mirror and a small tv. The master bedroom also has an en suite bathroom and toilet. Two other bedrooms, both have double beds, and share a shower room and toilet across the hallway. Both of these bedrooms are furnished in a modern style using lightwoods and glass.

The landscaped garden is an idea spot to find some shade under the mature walnut tree, or sit on the bench under the apple tree. The lawned garden with shrubs and perennial borders, also has a barbecue, seating for al fresco dining as well as its own well. We are not saying it is a wishing well, but there would be no harm in throwing a few coppers into it an making a wish.

L’Hirondelle is situated in Le Cambout, a charming village, with bakery, Libre Service and restaurant all within a few minutes walk of the house. Le Cambout borders the Forest of Lanouee, and close to the historical town of Josselin with its Chateau, doll museum, on the Nantes-Brest Canal yet only a short drive to the town of Loudeac. Loudeac is a pretty market town with a wide range of traditional shops and restaurants set on medieval streets. There are numerous banks and schools also, and activities include Les Aquatides Water Park, golf, fishing, walking and horse riding.
