"Small market in Pontrieux on Monday, fruit and veg, fresh crepe and live ducks, chickens and rabbits. Bigger markets in Paimpol on Tuesday and Guingamp on Friday, both excellent with cheeses, meats and local fruit and veg in season"

"There are several good Creperies both in the town and beside the marina and an excellent Pizza/pasta eatery next to the Tourist Info. The restaurant at Roche Jagu has a good lunchtime set menu and also a la carte (it is a nice easy walk from the cottage along green lanes, very green!)"

'Water and Steam'
"Canoes and kayaks can be hired in Pontrieux and the water between the locks is good for wildlife, or take a boat trip past the lavoirs. Steam train to Paimpol goes beside estuary, stunning views of Roche Jagu (good restaurant there and annual exposition) "
