Owners Recommendations

Eating Out

'Camors'
"In the centre of Camors, just a few hundred yards from the house, Pizzeria La Cigale offers good value Italian food including excellent takeaway pizzas. Korrigans lunch is very good value but limited choice. "

'Just a short drive away'
"We have produced a long list of restaurants in the area providing very good food at a reasonable price and the Auberge at Ste Anne d'Auray tops the list. They provided the food for the Pope when he visited the Basilica. "

Local Area and Activities

'Beaches'
"The beaches between Carnac and Locmariaquer are sheltered by the Quiberon peninsula and are generally safe for bathing. The beaches between Quiberon and Lorient offer good surf but require greater care. "

'Camors Adventure Park'
"If you have a head for heights you can try all the various ways of travelling through the tree tops at the Camors Adventure Park. About 1 mile from the house."

'Coastal Walks'
"There are stunning views from the footpaths bordering the coast, the river estuaries and the Golfe du Morbihan. The paths are generally well maintained. Take your camera with you as there are many photo opportunities. "

'Golf'
"The courses in the area include a French championship course near Auray, a 9-hole beginners course towards Pontivy and a links course near Lorient. Tickets are sometimes available to play 5 different courses in 5 days."

'Golfe du Morbihan '
"Walking or cycling is a joy on Ile aux Moines on their almost traffic free roads, one of 365 islands in the Golfe. Bikes can be hired at the port. There are numerous boat tours of the Golfe from most of the ports including Vannes and Auray. "

'Ste Anne d'Auray'
"The small town is overlooked by a very impressive Basilica. There is a very important Pardon at the end of July."

'Walking and Cycling'
"There are numerous paths through the Forest of Camors for walkers or cyclists. Alternatively join the towpath by the River Blavet towards either Hennebont or Pontivy. There are riverside bars for the less active. "

Markets and Shopping

'Auray'
"Vannes, Pontivy, Hennebont, Larmour Plage and Carnac are all market towns but the biggest and best is the Monday morning market at Auray."

'Vannes'
"Very good shopping in the old centre with many specialised shops and picturesque medievel architecture as an added bonus. Markets on Wednesday and Saturday."
