"The only problem you will encounter is deciding which one of the many varied restaurants to choose from. We have found that eating at lunchtime in local bars where the locals eat to be exceptional value and a wonderful experience. "

"There are plenty of places available nearby. We would recommend going to the information centre where you can buy fishing permits and obtain up-to-date information."

"For a true Bretagne experience go to one of the many festivals with live music, dancing and food, which are held during the summer months in most of the towns and local villages. For the most up-to-date information on local festivals visit the Tourist Information Centre in Malestroit."

'Swimming'
"There are a number of excellent beaches both north, especially along the Quiberon and south of Vannes. Closer there is a large lake, with a beach and plenty of water activities nearby at Ploermel. Sailing, swimming, tennis, playground and golf course."

"Too many to mention, these are just a few which are in the area. Insectarium, butterfly park, pre-historic park, zoo park, Brittany resistance museum, Dolls museum, National car museum and further afield at Hennebont the National horse stud"

"For the more athletic, we have 5 cycles to suit most ages, for you to use in the area which is ideal for cycling and walking especially as there is very little traffic in the area. The canal from Malestroit going north and south is ideal being nice and flat. Boats & kayaks can be hired along the canal and river."

"Most of the towns in the area have markets on various days of the week. You will need a good local map and a visit to the information centre in Malestroit. The following gives you a taste for a few of the local towns, but there are plenty more to explore."

'Josselin (30km)'
"A medieval town on the River Oust with an impressive 14th century castle and gardens with informative tours. The attractive town square is full of pavement cafés and restaurants and is the ideal place to sit and soak up the atmosphere."

'La Gacilly (15km)'
"'The Town of the Artisan.' La Gacilly is a Ville Fleurie (Town in Bloom) & the birthplace of Yves Rocher. Visit the Végétarium, the first museum of its kind in Europe entirely devoted to the plant kingdom, then go onto the Yves Rocher Botanical Garden and the factory where you can buy a wide range of plant-based beauty products."

"Our local medieval market town with a market every Thursday morning. During the summer there is a wide choice of both local and general French produce. There is a good range of shops and supermarkets ideal for all of your needs. The cave offers a very good choice of wine."

"A very special place set upon a rocky spur and surrounded by deep valleys, you will enjoy its attractive cobbled streets, numerous quality restaurants and varied shops. Close by there is a pre-historic dinosaur park and a lake which are both worth a visit."

"A must. A superb medieval town and port steeped in history, with narrow cobbled streets, ancient buildings, a cathedral . The old quarter around the cathedral has been carefully preserved and pedestrianised and it is possible to walk on some of the ramparts above meticulously-weeded flowerbeds in what used to be a moat. A very good choice of shops within the old walled town and a good choice of seafood restaurants. "
