Refurbished 2 bedroomed apartment with main bedroom and mezzanine bedroom/sitting room. The main bedroom contains a double bed and has its own small terrace and the mezzanine has a double bed and settee. The living room opens out onto an open sunterrace which is in full sun most of the day and is a lovely place to sit in the evenings and watch the sun set over the Pyrénées. The apartment is 300 metres from a beautiful Blue Flag beach and 300 metres from a lovely marina and harbour. With its many restaurants, the marina is a lively place to spend the evening, and the bars and restaurants cater for all tastes. Many have live entertainment throughout the high season.

A car is not necessary as everything you require is available at the local shops, market and supermarkets, including Lidl.

Port Leucate gives you easy access to the many historical sites of the area such as the Canal du Midi, the medieval walled city of Carcassonne, the Cathar castles, and beautiful gorges eg Galamus. Cities such as Beziers, Perpignan and Narbonne are within a short drive. The delightful small port of Collioure is a 40 minute drive or a pre-booked boat trip from St Cyprien. Here you can visit the Bar du Templiers where artists such as Matisse and Renoir left their paintings as payment for their stay - all still hanging in the bar!

Gourmets might like to try the exquisite menu on offer at the Château Rombeau in Rivesaltes - wine charged at cave prices with your meal.

The ski resorts of the Pyrénées are just 90 minutes away (making winter lets attractive - return to a warmer and sunnier climate!). The little yellow train that travels up the Pyrénées is another not-to-be-missed experience (but not for the faint hearted).

The Dali museum at Figueres in Spain is only an hour away and well worth the visit, though in high season the queues can be extremely long and the museum has a late night opening at about midnight to help with this.

There are many activities in the area such as surfing, sailing, canoeing, diving, hang-gliding, white water rafting, hiking, golf and horse riding for those who like an active holiday.

The area has many designated, well maintained and signposted walks which take you through areas of truly outstanding natural beauty. It is a walkers paradise!
