'Local Eateries'
"Jean Jacques in the local village of Mortemart, has an 11 Euro (07) 5 course menu with wine excellent food and ambience. In the evenings in the local Hotel the food is the BEST I have ever had in France and exceptional value with menus from 18 Euros up to 50!! "

'Local Towns'
"There are great restaurants in Bellac (12 mins) St Junien (17 mins) Oradour (20 mins) and of course in Limoges (40 mins) All in all amazing food and wine, but we can help you plan your days when you arrive"

'Wine !!'
"Not sure if this comes legally under eating out BUT, there are hundreds of vinyards to visit on day trips out through amazingly beautiful countryside and the roads here are like stepping back 40 years, empty and great fun to drive....Traffic?? What is that..................."

Local Area and Activities

'Bordeaux/Royan Beaches.'
"A trip to magical Bordeaux and Royan Beaches are not difficult to do as a day trip, or possibly an over night visit."

'Cities'
"Limoges, famous throughout the world for its china is 40 mins away and there are a miriad of factories to visit, but not so cheap !! Angouleme has great shopping and restaurants and sits on the banks of the Charente River which Henry V declared the prettiest river in his kingdom an hour away, and another half hours drive takes you to Saintes and Cognac the heart of the Cognac distileries and each brand has its own musuems and tours and more importantly free tasting!!!In Saintes is the very best restaurant in France (personal opinion) the LE QUAY..................."

'Flying'
"There are flying schools in St Junien and Limoges. You can have a series or individual lessons. Quite a few Londoners now commute from the area back to the UK weekly for work as living in France is less expensive (council tax less than £250 a YEAR !!!!!)"

'Futuroscope'
"1hour 15 mins away at Poitiers is Futuroscope which all our clients rave about and Disney in Paris is possible by TVR or road as a long day out. In short you will not be bored in our area.."

'Golf'
"There is an 18-hole golf course in St Junien less than 20 mins away and there is a 9-(soon to be 18) hole golf course 4 mins away or 10 if you want a great walk before you play golf!!"

'Motor Racing'
"About 25 mins away is the famous Isle de Jordan race track which has many events throughout the year and 2½ hours by very fast road is the world famous Le Mans Race track and musuem."

'Toulouse'
"A long but very easy drive away is Toulouse on the Canal du Midi and the centre of the British Aerospace industry with musuems and it is where the Eurobus is built. An early start will give you a full day down there."

'What to Do'
"Apart from fishing(fly/course/carp) there are fantastic walks all around us in the Monts du Blond and the Limousin. Riding schools from novice through to competition standard and we have a paddock available if the "Thelwell" kids insist you bring their ponies to use on the bridal paths adjacent to our property and not near ANY main roads."

Markets and Shopping

'Village Markets..'
"There are markets in all the local villages and towns usually on Sundays but also some weekdays. On the 27th there is a town market in which engulfs the whole town and you can buy anything from an egg to a tractor/pig/bed infact anything short of a plane!!Then on the 29th of each month is the local "les Heroles" a 25 min drive, again you name it, you can buy it, great restaurants too..Amazing"
