About the Property

Traditional Chalet in Barèges, Hautes Pyrénées, Midi Pyrénées.

Self catered chalet on the outskirts of Barèges, 10 minutes from the Domaine de Tourmalet the largest ski area in the Pyrenees . Ten minutes walk to the village centre.

The chalet is large and comfortable and sleeps up to 20 people . There is a large relaxed seating area with an open fire. A large dining room and a new well equipped fully fitted kitchen with large gas/electric range, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.

A perfect base from which to enjoy the varied walking the Pyrenees has to offer including the famous GR10 routes which span the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean and passes through the village. Also cycling, on the route of the Tour de France you can watch from the terrace as the riders pass on their way to tackle the infamous Col du Tourmalet, 10km further up the mountain.

Nearest restaurant:	The restaurants on the mountain all serve good home cooked food at very reasonable prices. La Bergerie on the La Mongie side of the Col du Tourmalet was featured in the Sunday Times Travel section - best mountain restaurants.
Location and activities:	Bareges is on the edge of the largest ski area in the Pyrenees, the Domaine du Tourmalet. It straddles the Col du Tourmalet, and is linked up to the large modern resort of La Mongie in the next valley. The runs are reached by a series of well maintained ski lifts which allow you to explore the huge variety of skiing the area has to offer. Local activities include fishing and skiing. Bareges has a paragliding school, quad biking, the largest privately owned botanical gardens in France and a thermal spa. There is white water rafting, bungee jumping and mountain biking all on offer close by. There is a market in the town every Wednesday during the summer selling produce.
Bedrooms:	There are 7 bedrooms spread over the the top and bottom floors. The top floor sleeps 7 and is ideal for families. The five bedrooms on the lower floor are comprised of 2 double bedded rooms, 1 twin bedded room, 1 room with a double and single bed and a room with 4 bunk beds, all suitable for adults.
Bathrooms:	There are 2 bath/shower rooms and 2 separate wcs.
Kitchen:	A new well equipped fully fitted kitchen with a large gas/electric range, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.
Dining:	The dining room seats upto 20 people.
Living area:	Newly refurbished, we have created a large relaxed seating area with an open fire.
Outside :	The terrace at the front is perfect for eating or just relaxing and watching the world go by. The chalet also has ample parking space for up to 5 cars.
General:	The chalet has a brand new heating system, with plenty of hot water. There is also a large secure area downstairs for skis, boots and bicycles accessible from the parking area outside the chalet.
