Just an hours drive from Caen, our cottage in Butte Rouge is set in the beautiful Normandy bocage a mile from ancient Tinchebray which has traditional French shops as well as a supermarket. In quiet location but with lots to see and do, take a guided low tide walk and wade across to Mont St Michel, horse ride on the sands, go for forest walks. Bagnoles de l'Orne has lots of tourist attractions, swimming, boating and a casino. Visits can also be made to Bayeux, the Landing Beaches and Villedieu-les-Poêles.

90 minute drive to Granville which has lovely beaches on either side. Nearer to hand are interesting villages and towns and plenty of opportunities for walking in the rolling countryside.

Enjoy eating with the French at lunchtime in good value restaurants - excellent 3 course meal with cheese, wine and coffee for around 10 Euros.

Very few English people around. Experience the true Normandy!
