Chateau de Labaurie, restored from a ruin in 1649 is set in 43 acres of beautiful countryside.

"We overlook a pretty market town with all amenities such as river fishing, tennis courts, theatre and cinema.
Not to be missed is the International Horse Jumping Show every year in the summer. Also a yearly music festival and regular classical concerts. Medieval banquets and dinner dances. Nearby are keep fit health clubs, cinema, theatre, riding stables and canoeing on the two rivers. We are within easy reach of St Emilion for its prestigeous wines and Cognac for its fine brandy. There are river trips on the River Charente which are very popular. The Atlantic coast with its wonderful sandy beaches are only an hour away."

"A wonderful selection of bars and eating places, most within walking distance. Don't miss the special restaurant in the large Tallyrand Chateau of Chalais, must book well in advance though. "
