Location and activities:	St Laurent is just 20 mins drive from La Rochelle and all its sailing activities. At Fouras there are watersports and sailing schools. The surrounding area is ideal for cycling and walking. There is a 9hole golf course 4km from the house. Fouras has all the seaside pleasures, also a lovely market for local fish, fruit and vegetables which is open every day. There is an open air night market in July and August along with festival and fireworks

"Needing some meat after all the seafood? This restaurant is not far from the Tourist Office in Rochefort and specialises in meat dishes and very good steaks and 'real' burgers. "

'Le Cap Nell'
"Bistro style and very relaxed but very scrumptious local produce, fish and seafood. Several menus which are very good value and some delicious desserts. They even speak a bit of English if you wish. The restaurant is on the Quai Bellot near the boat building area. "
