La Chapelle is in a peaceful rural hamlet away from it all but yet ideally situated between the small market towns of Sauzé Vaussais and Chef Boutonne which are both about 7km away and have supermarkets, banks, bars and restaurants. The local area is littered with rivers, lakes, chateaux and Romanesque churches.

The larger market towns of Poitiers, Niort and Angouleme, which are fantastic for those shopping trips, are all 40 mins away and La Rochelle is just over an hour away. The beautiful Ile de Ré is about 1½ hours away and is well worth a full day there.

A traditional farmhouse and cottage with heated swimming pool. Both properties have their own private shaded outdoor eating areas with bbq which leads to the shared garden and heated 12 x 6m swimming pool.

The large well established garden is surrounded by fields and woodland and we have a new large childrens play-frame. There is also the play-barn with table tennis, table football and its variety of bicycles available for guests to use.

The properties are ideal for families with children of all ages as both the farmhouse and cottage are fitted with stairgates. Cots and highchairs are available on request at no extra cost.

Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided, but not pool towels. 

Fuel can be provided for the woodburners at cost.

The Farmhouse is a spacious 4 bedroom property. The master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and a large en suite shower room. Bedroom 2 is a large double with an antique wooden bed and both bedroom 3 and 4 have full size twin beds.There is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a separate wc and basin. On the ground floor there is a kitchen with a gas hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with a freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, coffee-machine, an iron and ironing board. The large dining room has a table that easily seats 8 people and a large Charentaise fireplace with a woodburner. The spacious lounge has 2 large sofas, tv with some English channels, dvd and a large Charentaise fireplace with woodburner.

The Cottage is a traditional property with 3 bedrooms, 2 spacious doubles and 1 with full sized twin beds. There is a large family bathroom with a shower over the bath. On the ground floor the kitchen/dining room has a gas hob and oven, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board and has seating for 6. The large lounge has 2 sofas, tv with some English channels, dvd and a traditional Charentaise fireplace with a woodburner.

The area is ideal for cycling and walking, with its quiet rural roads surrounded by fields of sunflowers and corn. There is also a riding stables only 5km away, many local fishing lakes, the nearest 10 mins away and golf courses which are an hour away.

Both properties are Saturday changeover but out of season this could be flexible. Arrival time is 4pm and we ask guests to vacate the properties by 10am on the day of departure. We also ask guests to leave the properties clean and tidy. Discounts are given when both properties are booked together for 2 weeks.
