Aquitaine is a welcoming region, blessed with a good climate, eye-pleasing scenery and superb cuisine. An apartment holiday there is a great way to explore its wine houses, markets and history. Aquitaine's Bastide towns are ancient fortified hilltop towns. A good example is Monflanquin with its narrow streets - go there in the summer for its special medieval days. Food wise, Aquitaine is known for its duck, goose, fish and fruit, including plums - you can follow the 'Plum Route' and visit the Plum Museum in Granges-sur-Lot.
