Sea or river swimming, fishing, coastal, river and country walks, bike rides, tennis, horse riding, river trips, port with fish market, superb restaurants all very local. Nearby Concarneau, Quimper, Pont-Aven, Quimperlé.

Outside: Full size outdoor table tennis table: the large garden is totally enclosed
General: There is a washing machine and tumbledryer, ironing board and iron in the garage for the use of all. A large 6 drawer upright freezer is in the garage too for general use to supplement the freezer box of the fridges

'Cheap and Cheerful to Expensive and Chic'
"A variety of restaurants to suit all pockets in easy reach of our home near Kerfany Plage. Le Pressoir du Garzon (2½ miles) on the road to Moelan is well known for its pancakes and steaks, whilst Chez Jacky in Riec is famous for its fish. L'Auberge de la Mer overlooking Kerfany bay has a varied menu and the Verandah in Kergroes is a good family restaurant."

'Concarneau'
"La Ville Close is a small town which you get to by crossing over the moat. It is very pretty and has lots of quaint shops and delightful bars, cafes and restaurants. Concarneau itself is also worth a visit. "


'Cycling and Tennis'
"There are tennis courts in Moelan and bikes can be hired at the cafe tabac in Kergroes or from the cycle shop in Moelan."


'French East Indian Company'
"The French East Indian Company museum is situated in the delightful port of Port Louis a short drive away; both the museum port and area are worth a visit."


'Medieval Towns'
"Quimperle just 15 minutes away is a small medieval town, worth visiting. Quimper is larger and boasts a nice cathedral and pretty shopping streets. About 40 minutes away by car."

"The Port du Belon, our local port, is only a few minutes drive away and accessible by bike too. The fishing boats come in most afternoons between 1 and 5 o'clock and the little fish market there is very popular."


'Ports'
"The coastline is full of small ports, many with their own little fish markets or shops selling mussels and oysters fresh from the river/sea. Port de Doelan and Merrien are both close and if you enjoy cycling are a pleasant bike ride."


'River'
"The River Belon has a coastal path running along it and is also lovely for swimming as it has a couple of beautiful sandy beaches between the Pointe de Kerfany and the Port du Belon."


'Things to Do'
"A large range of activities are available locally; sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking, fishing, walking (there are many circular walks, details of which can be obtained from the Tourist Office in Moelan). If you don't like sea bathing, there are pools in several towns including Le Pouldu, a short drive away."


'Things to See'
"Pont-Aven was home to the painter Gaugin for several years and is still famous for its art galleries. A very pretty town and well worth a visit. "

"There is a market in Moelan-sur-Mer every Tuesday morning and also one on other days of the week in Pont-Aven, Riec-sur-Belon, and Quimperle. "

"There are several large supermarkets very close including 2 Intermarches and a Leclerc. In Kergroes, there is a small supermarket, a bakers, a butchers, a cafe-tabac, a Post Office and a hairdressers. Nearer to Lorient there is a large shopping centre with many shops including a hypermarket. "


'Supermarkets and Shops'
"There is a small supermarket in the village of Kergroes, walking distance about .7 mile. There is a large Intermarché as you go into Moelan, about 3 miles and there's another Intermarché on the road between Baye and Quimperlé. There's also a large Leclerc just beyond this second Intermarché."
