General:	If you fancy a swim there is the nearby lake at Thors with its man-made sandy beach watched over by lifeguards. At the lake there are pedallos for hire, a bar/bistro and fishing. There is the thermal resort "Les Antilles" in Jonzac with its large wave pool, waterfall and 60 metre shute and exotic vegetation. There is a fishing lake at Loire/Nie just a 5 minutes journey away from the house.10 mins away is the town of Matha which is good for basic shopping and market days (Tuesday, Friday, Saturday morning and Sunday) all year round. Why not visit the Zoo de la Palmyre in Royan or the caves at Mescher with its pine forests and sandy beaches. The west coast and its sandy beaches are just an hours drive away.
