The chalet (or mobile home) is modern with double and twin bedrooms, pull-out settee in the living area, shower and separate toilet. Ideal for 2 adults and up to 3 children or 2 couples.

Privately owned, the chalet is much better equipped than most commercial chalets and includes radio/cd player, combination microwave/electric oven, 4 burner gas hob, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, plenty of crockery/cutlery/cooking utensils, fridge and freezer, 2 fans, barbecue and 2 bicycles for exclusive use of our guests. All included at no extra charge.

Outside is a deck equipped for outdoor dining, gazebo, bbq and sunloungers. It is situated in a quiet corner of an excellent 4* site surrounding a chateau. A magnificent pool complex has 4 pools, lazy river and waterslides. Activities include kiddies club, horse riding, tennis, children's playground etc. There is a good site shop, bar, restaurant, pizza shop and takeaway. Beautiful beaches are a few minutes drive away and there are many “real” French towns and villages round about.

'Bourcefranc'
"A local village with harbour looking out to the Oleron bridge and a harbour front restaurant and bar, Le Terminus. Only 10 minutes drive from the chalet it is convenient for an early evening stroll on the seafront and a drink outside the bar. Good meals in Le Terminus with plenty of alternatives to seafood. There is an old fort offshore reachable on foot at low tide."

'Marennes Port'
"The port attached to Marennes village about 10 minutes from the chalet has an active fishing port and a group of seafood restaurants and oyster bars overlooking the sea. The area is being developed as the oyster capital of France called Cite de l’Huitre. Some of the restaurants look basic but are very popular with the French; be there by noon if you want a table for Sunday lunch."

'A Day for the Children'
"The site pool complex includes 4 connected pools and a lazy river together with several waterslides, children's toys and a snack bar. Next to the pool is a children's playground. Families can spend long, happy days without going anywhere!"

'Visit La Rochelle'
"The historic town of La Rochelle is about 40 minutes drive north and includes an historic port now used as a marina, a beautiful old town with shops, bars, restaurants etc as well as tourist spots including an aquarium and maritime museum."

'Visit the Zoo'
"The zoo at La Palmyre is about 40 minutes drive away on the road to Royan and is well worth a visit. Lots of animals (they say over 1600) in a pleasant setting over 40 acres. It is close to Royan or Sainte-Palais-de-Mer so the trip can be combined with a visit to one of these seaside resorts."

"There is a huge traditional street and indoor market in Rochefort on Thursday mornings (15 mins drive) and others in Marennes and almost all the surrounding towns."
