What to See and Do
Owners Recommendations
'A Super Centre for Visiting Countless Attractions and Beautiful Countryside'
"Cycling and walking: recommended are the Bois Meure and d'Avagour a few km to the north. The Grand Randonee footpath along the Trieux Valley. The lovely Nantes-Brest Canal and the Lac de Guerledan 45 mins to the south for all watersports, cycling/walking along the canal tow path. Many walks and rides in the cottage vicinity - woodland, farmland, small recreational lakes, small villages.
Ancient sites/towns: Quintin, Guingamp, both ancient towns, much to see. Ancient calvaire at Senven-Lehart; the decorated riverside wash-houses (lavoires) at Pontrieux to the north.
Coastal: A must-see are the Isles de Brehat - very short sea crossing from Paimpol; the stunning Pink Granite Coast to the north-west; nearest sandy beaches at Binic half an hour from cottage with many other lovely beaches, rocky coves etc to discover around the coast.
Visitors have also played golf (half hour to north) and fished (Etang Neuf nearby).
Loads of ideas in visitors' book and brochures/maps/guides at cottage."
'Guingamp, Quintin and Local Villages'
"There is a huge Leclerc at Guingamp, just as you enter the town. Also has restaurant. Large "Champion" at Quintin is nearest - 20 mins, and a Lidl.
Also recommended are the boulangerie at Plesidy (10 mins drive) and butchers at Senven-Lehart (10 mins walk)."
'Local Towns and Villages'
"Lunchtime and evening menus available small bars and restaurants in Quintin, Guingamp, Bourbriac - all 20-30 mins drive from the cottage. Further afield, if you are out for the day, all the large coastal towns will provide many choices of places to eat. All are very child-friendly. Also try local bars/restaurants in nearby villages, eg Plesidy and St-Pever where you will find a simple lunchtime menu available. Popular with locals."
