Restored Farmhouse, cottage and B&B in 2 acres near Bouille Loretz, 18 miles south west of Saumur, Maine-et-Loire, Western Loire.
B&B in restored Farmhouse; self-catering Cottage; in 2 acres on the Maine et Loire/Poitou-Charentes border, 18 miles wouth west of Saumur, Maine et Loire, Western Loire.
Les Deux Chenes is in a tiny hamlet surrounded by farmland, Anjou vineyards and countryside.
Our 1 bedroomed restored cottage has an open plan kitchen/lounge. Beams and stone fireplace. Fully-fitted kitchen with slimline dishwasher, large upright fridge-freezer, microwave, electric oven, gas hobs. Downstairs shower room with wc and whb. Satellite tv with vcr/dvd.
Upstairs bedroom has 1 double and 1 single bed available as required. French doors from bedroom lead onto raised balcony with table and chairs and uninterrupted views over the local landscape.
Private side garden with umbrella washing line and bbq and own entrance to back garden and pool area.
Table tennis etc in gamesroom. Poolside, there are loungers, a picnic table.
Cotton bed linen and house towels included.
The Cottage guests share the heated pool and tennis court with the owners and other guests.
An extra en-suite bedroom in the Farmhouse is sometimes available for a group of 3 or 4 who all wish to self-cater in the Cottage.
nb. The maximum height in the bedroom is lower than usual and slopes down in line with the roof.
Minimum rental 3 days (July/August whole weeks only).

| Location and activities: | In the countryside but market towns and supermarkets only 7, 8 and 10 miles away. Local village with bakery and tabac bar 1.5 miles. GOLF: We can provide some golf trolleys. We belong to Saumur Golf Club - 25 minutes away and are happy to take you there. Many other golf clubs under one hour away. We have FISHING, HORSE RIDING and BOATING on the rivers nearby; the conservation ZOO at Doue-la-Fontaine breeding endangered species with the animals mostly in pairs in their natural habitat enclosures. Doue is also famous for its roses with a huge ROSE GARDEN and several nurseries. The PUY DU FOU and FUTUROSCOPE are both just under an hour away and a wonderful day out for children and adults. The Puy du Fou night show on Fridays and Saturdays only is very famous and gets booked up months in advance. SAUMUR is famous for its sparkling wines (second largest area after Champagne) and you can visit and taste at the various wine houses; it is also famous for the NATIONAL RIDING SCHOOL which runs organised tours. The ORIENTAL GARDENS at Mauleon, 40 mins away, are particularly beautiful with the spring blossom and with the colours of autumn. The stunning CHATEAUX of the Western Loire are steeped in history and open most of the year. WINE AREAS: You can visit our English-speaking viticulturist in our local village for ANJOU wine-tasting. We are also next door to the Saumur and Touraine regions. |
| Bedrooms: | Both farmhouse bedrooms have very comfortable beds and showers with good water pressure. Air-conditioning in the 2 upstairs bedrooms in summer, heated towel rails at other times. The cottage has a 4'6" double and a 3' single, both available for any booking. Both farmhouse and cottage bedrooms have bedside tables with lamps, wardrobes and chest of drawers as well as floor-standing fans. |
| Bathrooms: | The farmhouse B&B - 2 en suite shower rooms and separate room with a bath (shower above). Very good water pressure on all the showers. The Cottage has its shower room with wc and wash hand basin downstairs. |
| Kitchen: | Cottage kitchen area. Fully fitted modern units equipped with good quality crockery, cutlery and glassware with worktop area, large upright fridge-freezer, 8 place dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, electric oven/grill and gas hob; toaster. |
| Dining: | Cottage Dining/lounge area. Individual, fold away tables. Sofa and 2 armchairs. Farmhouse B&B dining room/lounge. We hope to install a satellite TV soon. |
| Living area: | Cottage lounge area has satellite tv, vcr/dvd player. Farmhouse B&B guests share a large dining-room lounge with sofa, armchairs and coffee table, as well as well as an 8 place dining table. We will supply separate dining tables if guests request this. |
| Entertainment on-site: | Our 10 x 5m HEATED SWIMMING POOL has roman steps and underwater lighting. Our heatpump will reliably heat the water every day to at least 28°c from May until September although beg. of May and mid-end September may be lower depending on the temperatures at the time. Our own ACRYLIC TENNIS COURT; coaching sometimes available. Please ask for details. INDOOR GAMESROOM with table tennis, basket ball net and darts board. Equipment for garden badminton, boules, baseball, swingball, junior cricket and football. We also have a golf practice net. In the Farmhouse dining room/lounge we have a dresser containing books and maps covering our area and tourist information, as well as many indoor games (scrabble, monopoly, articulate etc); jigsaw puzzles and card packs. Our guests are welcome to borrow any of these during their stay. |
| Outside: | Additional eating areas are in the front garden and by the pool where there are picnic tables both ends. Games can be played anywhere on the premises, especially on the grassy area between the house and the pool in the back garden but noise levels must be respectful of other guests. There is much space for parking. |
| General: | Viv and David live in the farmhouse and are happy to give our guests information about the local area and any other information to help our guests enjoy their holiday to the max. |
| Suitability: | With so much to do at our property and in our area, Les Deux Chenes is suitable for adults and chidren alike. Sometimes we have times when we accept adults only or please ask us if you require this. |
