"Guest Review"

Les Levraults, Riberac, France

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at les Levraults near Riberac in June this year and I would highly recommend it for a really relaxing holiday. The house is situated just outside Riberac and is very quiet and peaceful. The accomodation is excellent with four comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms and a cloakroom, a very well equipped kitchen and large lounge and dining room. The garden is large with a lovely pool and terrace - great for dining al fresco.

The thing that amazed us, having rented numerous properties over the years, was how well equipped the house was, everything has been thought of. If the weather turns inclement there are plenty of board games, darts and a table tennis table to keep everyone occupied. Also we were able to watch Wimbledon as there are English TV channels.

The area around Riberac is lovely and there are plenty of places to visit. There are some super restaurants (details of which are listed in a book in the house, and it is kept updated). Lunches are very inexpensive - set menus 2 or 3 courses in most restaurants from between 10 to 15 Euros and really delicious and it leaves you the evening to sit outside by the pool with some of the produce you've bought at the markets. There is a huge market on a Friday in Riberac and details of all the market days in the different towns are in the house. Riberac is well served for shops, tennis courts and a gym.

All in all I would highly recommend this property either for a family holiday or as we did if just two of you go. Shona Wilson 26/8/2011

Owners Recommendations

'Riberac and Beyond'
"Some lovely restaurants, sit outside and enjoy a variety of types of eating - French, Chinese, Vietnamese. Cafes galore. Lovely restaurants in Aubeterre and other villages, all listed in a book in the cottage."

'Riberac Market'
"Every Friday, one of the largest markets in the area. Have coffee at one of the cafes on the edge of the market - buy your food fresh from the stallholders. Enjoy shopping for unusual foods and choice wines in Le Clerc, 5 minutes away, and also Intermarche. Plenty of wonderful bakers in the town, with scruptious breads, quiches cakes and desserts."
