Owners Recommendations

Local Area and Activities

'Atlantic Coast'
"The beautiful Atlantic coast is a must, including the chic town and promenade of Arcachon the magnificent Pyla Dune and miles of golden sanded unspoilt beaches."

'Canals and Cycling'
"There are excellent cycling roads with very few cars and a brillant new cycle way all along the nearby Canal Lateral with village bars and cafes to rest at on the way. You can take a trip on the canal on a leisure boat or even hire your own boat for the day."

'Fontet'
"The local marina of Fontet makes a lovely day out especially if you have children; there is a shaded park and pinic area stacked with climbing frames swings and slides etc and a small guarded bathing lake, beach and cafe-bar where you can enjoy ice cream and snacks."

'La Reole'
"The local town of La Reole is steeped in history. Its over 1000 years old. You can follow the historic guide through its streets and buildings including the oldest town hall in France built to the order of Richard the Lionheart. La Reole holds its market every Saturday on the quayside of the River Garonne. There are plenty of bars and cafes to sit outside and a good selection of restaurants all within walking distance of the farmhouse."

'St Emilion'
"The historic wine capital of St Emilion is definitely worth a visit with its medieval catacombs and underground church. There are plenty of restaurants to eat in, gift shops to browse around and not forgetting plenty of vineyards"

'The Area'
"There are numerous châteaux, interesting medieval markets and cathedral towns. "
