Out of season, it is a perfect spot for those looking for peace and tranquillity but with a wide range of interesting places to visit and see in the area.

The park is exceptionally safe for small children, so parents can relax and enjoy their own holiday.

So far, some 116 privately-owned villas have been constructed on the beautiful 48 hectare Château de Salles estate, of which about 70 are available for rental. The park also includes the charming, original 18th century Château on the banks of the river L’Eyre which flows gently past the Château and through the protected Regional Nature Park of Landes de Gascoigne.

Château de Salles stands on the edge of a magnificent forest in the Gironde.

Yes, our park does contain pine trees as well, but the predominance is of trees such as Oak, Wild Chestnut, Linden, Ash, Beech and Acacia. Bordering the estate is the tranquil and unspoilt L’Eyre river where one can take kayak trips, listen to the birds and even see Kingfisher fishing for their prey. The estate itself offers scope for gentle walks through the trees or along the banks of the river.

Those wishing to venture further afield can rent bikes and explore the many bicycle trails in the area.

Within 30 minutes drive you can enjoy the beautiful Atlantic beaches and fantastic surfing, 4 golf courses, horse riding, lake sailing, the cultural city of Bordeaux, the chic resort town of Arcachon (famous for its oysters) and a water fun-park (Aqualand). A little further afield you have the wonderful wine Chateaux of the Bordeaux appellation, St. Emilion, the charming fishing port of St. Jean de Luz and the great Spanish city of St. Sebastian.

The region is famous for its regional cuisine and restaurants abound in the area.
