Large neo-Breton house recently renovated in contemporary style. Situated at end of quiet track in residential area close to the coast and town.
Sleeps 6 but can accommodate 8 using sofabed in living room.
A cycle track nearby leads down to the beaches of southern Brittany which are only about 3km (10 mins on bike) from the house. There are some 23km of coastline in the area which provides a wide choice of long sandy beaches to relax on, rocks to explore, creeks, dunes and ports. Plenty to keep everyone occupied with opportunities for windsurfing, canoeing and sailing. There are miles of beautiful coastal walks and cycle routes which also extend inland through the beautiful Breton countryside. Standing stones and historic churches abound.
For those looking for an active time, the house is equipped with full sized table tennis table. A number of bikes of various sizes are also available.
For those less active, there is plenty of free parking all along the coast! With many beautiful towns and villages within easy driving distance.
The house is on three storeys and is set in a large garden (approx 1000sqm) with hedges on 3 sides and open to fields to the south. Far reaching views over the fields to the coast and the town of Concarneau in the distance.
The ground floor contains a cellar, with washing machine and sinks, opening directly onto the garden. There is also a large garage with table tennis table and various other indoor games.
On the first floor is a large living room with kitchen and dining area with windows to east and west ensuring sunlight in the morning and evening. The principle bedroom is on this floor together with the family bathroom and separate wc.
The top floor has two bedrooms. One with bunk beds and one with twin single beds.
The house has been totally remodelled and decorated with new furniture, fixtures and fittings throughout ... but we appreciate it needs a coat of paint on the outside! White walls with white painted floors on the top floor, new ceramic tiles with rugs on the first floor. The white and wooden furniture is complemented with blue accessories which add to the light and airy beach house feel!
The local bar is within walking distance and sells bread and breakfast (worth ordering as they sell out quick) and excellent simple food during the summer and on certain days off season.
The town of Tregunc is just 2km (about 10 mins on bike) to the north and contains many shops, resteraunts, tennis courts (indoor and outdoor), supermarkets and bars. A weekly market provides the local flavour and a daily fishmarket in the port of Trevignon (nearby) can offer a more adventurous culinary challenge!
Nearby is the fishing port of Concarneau (approx 6km) with its historic walled town reached across the bridge from the new town or by ferry from the Cabelou area. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from here serving everything from seafood to crepes.
To the south is the artist village of Pont Aven. With galleries and shops selling everything from paintings to biscuits from the area.
The larger towns of Quimper is 30mins from the house, with Lorient about and hour to the south and Brest an hour to the north.
If you like beaches, sailing, walking, eating, shopping, quaint towns or large cities we hope the house will provide you with a relaxing and modern base or you can enjoy sitting in the garden with a good read listening to the birds and crickets!
