La Longère benefits from a secluded position sitting in an acre of unspoilt countryside just 5 mins drive (3kms) from the typical Breton village of Languidic, in Southern Brittany.  La Longère is also ideally located for guests to explore the beautiful sandy beaches, as well as the countryside and historic towns of Southern Brittany such as Vannes, Auray, La Trinité-sur-Mer, Lorient, (the Volvo Ocean Race comes to Lorient on 17th June!),  Hennebont, Carnac, Quiberon and many more.  For the golfer we are also within easy reach of several good golf courses including St Laurent, Val Queven, Baden, and Ploermeur Ocean.  Groups are welcome and will obviously benefit from exclusive use of the property and facilities.  Surfing, sailing, kayaking, fishing, cycling, and horse riding are all available in this region.

Location and activities: Our luxury B&B sits in an acre of unspoiled farmland just 5 mins from the village centre of Languidic. It offers the ideal retreat yet it is also perfectly placed to enjoy all the sights and activities available in Southern Brittany. Enjoy wonderful cycle rides along the river Blavet (bike hire is available - please enquire at time of booking). Just 15 mins drive away in Inzinzac-Lochrist, Parc d'Eau Vive on the river Blavet offers Canoeing and Kayaking for all abilities. We are also an ideal base for the golfer as we are within easy reach of several good golf courses i.e. St Laurent, Val Queven, Baden, and Ploermeur Ocean. Groups are welcome and obviously benefit from exclusive use of the property and facilities.


The medieval market town of Hennebont with its bustling weekly market (Thursday mornings), bars and restaurants lies just a 10 minute drive away and a visit to the Le Haras National D’Hennebont (French National Stud) is recommended. The beautiful coastline of Southern Brittany where beautiful sandy beaches offer the opportunity to relax, swim, surf, sand yacht, windsurf or kite surf are all within easy reach.


Quiberon and the Cote Sauvage are definitely worth a visit. Or stroll amongst the Neolithic standing stones at Carnac, then spend time on Carnac-Plage, a large, gently sloping beach of fine sand and one of Brittany's most modern and lively seaside resorts it provides a good choice of amenities together with colourful cafes and restaurants serving good quality, reasonably priced food. Take a trip to the beautiful medieval town of Vannes which is located just on the edge of the famous Golfe du Morbihan (a sailing metropolis, also known for its oyster farms). Vannes also offers the opportunity to sample smart shops, bars, restaurants and a lovely marina where the cafe terraces are often overflowing with al fresco diners.


The port town of Lorient is very close by, again offering a lively selection of shops, bars and restaurants or take a guided tour round the old German U-Boat base. During the first 2 weeks of August it is well worth visiting Lorient for the annual Interceltique Music Festival which takes place in the town centre and which attracts many artists/musicians from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, Spain and Brittany. The first weekend of the festival kicks off with a large parade of bands and dancers all in traditional costumes - a real fun festival!


In fact there is so much to see and do in this part of Brittany and La Longère provides the ideal base and perfect retreat after a day of activities and exploration!

"The whitewater park at Inzinzac-Lochrist offers a course for kayaking at all levels. The canoe lift, unique in France, takes you up the river without effort, where you can start enjoying the rushing white water rapids. The whitewater park also offers canoe trips over the River Blavet, for a half day or several days. And if kayaking is not your thing, the river and its surroundings offer a tree-lined promenade and picnic area. "
