KERMARCH

Situated just a 5 minute drive from Saint-Nicolas-du-Pelem, 15 minutes from Lac Guerlédan, the largest lake in Brittany offering many watersports, restaurants and beaches and only 30 minutes from the coast you will find our lovely 17/18th Century hamlet of Kermarch set in 4 acres of trees, fields and gardens.

Here on-site you will enjoy swimming in our professionally installed 12 x 6m heated, fenced swimming pool with a shallow end and roman steps. The pool is heated and is normally open from the end of May to the end of September. The pool is sheltered and well positioned to be in full sun all day with tables, chairs, parasols and sunloungers to relax on. Also in the grounds are a boules court, table tennis, trampoline with safety net, childrens swing and slide and badminton.

We also have a large field that is kept cut for ball games (football, cricket and rounders) so that the young ones can play within sight but without disturbing the adults. There is plenty of room within the grounds to park cars safely.

Kermarch is in the countryside but yet only 5 minutes away from Saint-Nicolas-du-Pelem which offers a new large supermarket with fresh fish counter, butchery, bakers and all necessary provisions. There are 5 bars, a hotel, a pizzeria and restaurants in the town, a couple of banks, doctors, pharmacy and garage.

The nearest large town is 30 minutes away, Saint-Brieuc which is the capital of the area and has a huge variety of shops and a hypermarket (Carrefours)

Pontivy is only a 30 minute drive and has lots of different small shops, a weekly market and a chateau open to the public.

Fishing and horse riding nearby.

KERMARCH FARMHOUSE AND AJACENT COTTAGE

The 18th century granite farmhouse and adjacent cottage are suitable for larger family groups of 10 to 12 + cots. They are set away from the other cottages down a private drive in their own pretty formal gardens with lawns, shrubs and plenty of mature trees for shade. The house has been renovated to offer comfortable accommodation but retaining its olde worlde character.

The arched granite doorway opens in to a large airy lounge with comfortable chairs, sofas and a sofabed, logburner, English tv, video and dvd player.

The fitted kitchen has an electric oven and hob, gas hob, large fridge-freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher, kettles, toaster, coffee machine, hand blender etc. There is loads of decent crockery and cutlery and plenty of serving dishes etc for large groups to be catered for properly. There is also a huge collection of cookery books to help you plan your holiday meals. The beamed dining room has 2 large antique dining tables and chairs. Utility room with an additional fridge-freezer, shower and toilet, washing machine, hoover, iron and ironing board

Upstairs are a family room (double and single bed) with en suite shower and toilet, 2 double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a family bathroom.

The small " Hansel & Gretel" cottage next door has one large bedroom with 2 double beds. Downstairs is the bathroom and kitchen/lounge with bed-settee and logburner. The kitchen includes a fridge, gas hob and microwave oven.

MAISON MADELEINE

Located on the Kermarch site but away from the farmhouse and cottage are Maisons Madeleine and Marie. These 2 cottages next to each other were recently converted from an old 17th century house and stable and offer very bright, comfortable accommodation. Both properties share access to the swimming pool with the farmhouse and cottage.

Madeleine is the larger of these 2 properties and sleeps 9 plus cot. On the ground floor are a double and twin bedroom, shower/toilet and lounge/ kitchen /diner. The kitchen is fitted with a stainless steel gas oven /hob, fridge-freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher and washing machine. There is plenty of good quality crockery, cutlery and glasses as well as kettle, toaster, coffee machine, hand blender, ironing board, iron, hoover etc. The lounge has comfortable armchairs and sofas, logburner, books, videos, English tv, video and dvd player. French doors opening on to patio area with bbq and garden furniture and parasols.

Upstairs are a triple and double bedroom and bathroom.

There is a large lawned area outside with your own rotary washing line.

MAISON MARIE

Next door to Maison Madeleine is Maison Marie which sleeps 4/6 + cot.

Downstairs is a shower/toilet, lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stainless steel gas hob/oven, microwave cooker, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, hand blender, ironing board, iron, hoover etc. The lounge has comfortable settee and armchairs with books, videos, English tv, video and dvd player. French doors leading to the patio area with parasol, garden furniture and bbq.

Upstairs is a bathroom, double bedroom and family bedroom with a double bed and sofabed. There is a large lawned area outside with your own rotary washing line.

LUSTRUYEN

Lustruyen is set in 1½ acres in a very quiet rural area but within 5 minutes of the market town of Rostrenen. The largest lake in Brittany, Lac Guerledan and the Nantes-Brest Canal are only 15 minutes away and offer many watersports including canoeing, kayaking, wind surfing and water skiing as well as small sandy beaches, restaurants, and boat trips along the lake in July and August. There are tennis courts in Rostrenen and fishing in the small rivers and lakes nearby. The roads and lanes around this area are quiet and flat and ideal for bike riding with lots of designated randonees (footpaths) criss-crossing the countryside. The 2 properties on this site, the cottage (sleeps 4/6) and the farmhouse (sleeps 9) can be rented separately or are ideal for larger family groups (max 15) who would prefer to rent both and have the pool/place to themselves.

There is plenty of room within the grounds to park cars safely. The farmhouse and cottage are detached from each other across a gravelled courtyard.

There is a communal room that the 2 properties have a key to housing the washing machine, freezer, ironing boards, irons, hoovers and video library.

Nearby Rostrenen is a small town offering all facilities (4 supermarkets, doctors, garage, tennis courts, bank and restaurants etc) and a weekly small general market on Tuesday mornings.

LUSTRUYEN COTTAGE

Pretty detached slate and granite cottage that sleeps 4/6.

The ground floor has a lounge/kitchen/diner and bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, fridge and microwave oven. There is plenty of china, cutlery and glasses and all the normal appliances ie kettle, toaster, coffee-maker, hand blender etc. The comfortable lounge area has leather chesterfield settees, books, English tv, video, dvd player, logburner and french doors to a private patio area which overlooks a small apple orchard and grassed area with your own rotary washing line.

The upstairs is fully carpeted with one double bedroom and a family room with a double bed and sofabed.

LUSTRUYEN FARMHOUSE

Situated across the gravelled courtyard from the cottage is the farmhouse that sleeps 9 + cot . There is an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with large farmhouse table, comfortable sofas and chairs, logburner, books, English tv, video and dvd player. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of quality glasses, crockery, cutlery, non stick pans as well as a kettle, toaster, coffee-maker, hand blender etc. There is a gas hob/oven, fridge, microwave oven and dishwasher. On the ground floor there is also a family bedroom with a double, and single bed and en suite shower/toilet.

Upstairs is fully carpeted with 2 double bedrooms with carved Breton beds and wardrobes, a twin bedroom and bathroom.

To the front of the farmhouse hidden from view is a small secluded private garden with your own rotary washing line.
