Carefully renovated stone property built around 1800. The ground floor used to be a dairy, the walled garden a place where cider barrels were made. The house nestles within the village, close to the church, and just a short walk or drive from the lake. There are 2 bar restaurants in Caurel, and more places to eat by the lake, or bbq in the garden and relax on the terrace. Plenty to do for all ages. A choice of beaches within about an hour's drive and lovely places to explore.

Highchair and travelcot. Cleaner at changeover (by arrangement in interim). Bed linen provided. Towels by arrangement. English speaking local caretaker.

Changeover day flexible.

Swimming, canoe/kayak, water ski/water board, row boat, paddle boat at the lake. Walking. Cycling. Bike hire, horse riding, tennis, mini golf, fishing nearby.

There is a canoe at the property for guests use.

Enjoy the markets and sample the local specialities. The Sunday market at Bon Repos against a backdrop of the ancient abbey and sparkling water is not to be missed. Wander around the Friday evening market in Mur de Bretagne. There is a changing programme of free live entertainment in the square. Back to Caurel for the Friday night special of fish and chips or moules frites at The Relais, or be spoiled with tastes at The Auberge de Guerledan. You had better book! Lots of other weekly markets in the area, and outdoor flea markets to tempt your Euros.

Take the lakeside path that meanders around the lake, along waterside paths, up to spectacular viewpoints and through the forests, explore the gentle gradients of the old railway track that is now a walking/cycling route, or follow the signposts and local guides to find the ancient burial chambers on the hillside.

Swim in the lake at sunset when it's warm and magical, and then treat yourself to a crepe and a cool drink of cider.

Strike out for the coast to find a sandy beach or the charm of the little bays around the Morbihan. Find the oyster farms, and come home with a dozen! Be amazed by the standing stones of Carnac. Find the places that have inspired so many artists, and take in a historic town or two en-route.

Go to a Fest Noz and join in the Breton dancing. Whatever your age you will be welcome and friendly faces will show you how to do it. Visit the local Fetes, free and fun!
