Stone-built with exposed wooden beams, restored to full modern standards. Lovely 1 acre garden, paved terraces with wooden dining furniture, large parasol, barbecue, loungers, swings etc. Gamesroom with table tennis, small snooker table, dartboard.

 

Accommodation. Hall, large comfortable sitting room with dining area, granite fireplace, wood burning stove, double sofabed, cupboards with books, games, puzzles and hi-fi. Fully-fitted kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer. Salle d'eau with shower, wc and washing machine.

 

Upstairs. Three bedrooms (2 doubles, third with 3ft single and 2ft 6'' bunk beds. Bathroom with wc. Separate wc with vanity unit.

 

Our visitors love the house and garden and many return year after year.

Location and activities: Quiet rural area, farm animals and interesting wildlife. Village 1½km. Favourable micro-climate (sunshine hours rival those of French Riviera). Beautiful beaches and small harbours. The varied south or west facing beaches offer opportunities for surfing, windsurfing, sand yachting, as well as the usual seaside activities (under the eyes of lifeguards in season). "Indian Forest" 7km, well supervised tree scaling, rope swings and aerial walkways (safety nets). Chateau of Richard the Lionheart at Talmont 12km, historical pageants and hands-on fun. Chateau-de-la-Guignadiére 7km, Renaissance buildings and park with quiz, treasure trail. Neolithic monuments, menhirs, dolmens etc, many well worth a visit. Zoo at Les Sables-d'Olonne 25km.
Farther afield world renowned Le Grand Parc du Puy du Fou and Cinéscenie - 1hr on excellent roads
Marais Poitevin green waterways, boat trips in verdant surroundings. La Rochelle historic town, harbour and prestigious arcaded shopping. Also, local markets, fêtes, horse riding and farm visits, sign-posted walks and cycle rides. Leaflets, maps and further information available at the house.
