Holiday in France near La Rochelle and Ile de Ré in a pretty stone traditional fisherman's cottage with a large living space and private enclosed new swimming pool in garden area and situated on the edge of a pretty village.
Excellent base for walking, fishing, golf, cycling, swimming and bird-watching. Very safe for children. Close to the beaches, La Rochelle and Ile de Ré which is a very exclusive island with lots of restaurants. There are many waterways and canals in the Vendée and Charente areas where boats can be hired. Shopping at La Rochelle a must!
Ground floor. Kitchen/dining room with log fire, cooker, ice maker, fridge and microwave. Comfortable lounge with Sky television, micro music system. One large double bedroom with en suite shower room. One large family room (1 double and 2 single beds) also with en suite shower room and separate wc.
First floor. Mezzanine area to sleep 2. Duvets and pillows provided.
Summer kitchen with barbecue (very large dining area). Plentiful supply of outdoor garden furniture.
Cot and pushchair available. Large private enclosed garden with newly installed swimming pool. Central heating. Bed linen, towels and cleaning included.
Well behaved pets welcome. English caretaker. Saturday changeovers .
Winter lets at very reasonable prices.

'Ile de Re'
"A beautiful island half an hour away with so many restaurants selling fabulous food - a paradise for seafood lovers! Marans, our local town has several good restaurants - one with a Michelin star near the river, La Porte Vert. Another Michelin restaurant is Auberge la Riviere 10 minutes away. The town of Fontenay le Comte has many restaurants 20 minutes away, my favourite being Le Pinky. Venice Verte, The Green Venice is fabulous for a long lazy Sunday lunchtime visit - there are several restaurants alongside the river, then you can hire a boat (with driver!) to take you around the maze of waterways, catching sight of lots of birds and water creatures!"
'Markets & Shopping'
"Shopping in La Rochelle is fabulous for gifts and designer wear. Also Fontenay-le-Comte is good for mooching and grabbing a bargain. The markets in Marans are Tuesday and Saturday. Markets elsewhere are numerous wherever you go."
'Seaside '
"Half an hour away are the numerous beaches stretching for miles. Best take a picnic/towels and coolbox for drinks and spend the day there.
Lots of boating activity on the local rivers where you can hire boats by the hour with or without motors!"
