This is a traditional Normandy stone house situated right in the centre of Pontorson town, close to the buses and trains for those without transport or if you just want to leave your car at the house. Pontorson is situated right on the border of Normandy and Brittany and both have the most fascinating places to visit and explore and you are about 7km away from the 2nd most visited tourist attraction in France, the famous Mont St Michel.
Pontorson is situated on the river Couesnon which runs at the end of the town about 10 minutes walk from the house. You can fish - you will find a shop in the town centre near to the Town Hall, where you can get the rods, nets and equipment you need to fish in the rivers, nearby lakes or even the sea. You will need a permit, details from the tourist centre in the town square.. You can walk from the town down the side of the river right up to Mont St Michel.
There are cycle paths, (bike hire available, details at the tourist centre) lots of lovely places to walk and explore, there is an adventure rope park in the tree tops close by at Trans le Fôret, here you will find a lake, walking tracks and a lakeside café all just 15 minutes away. Tennis courts are a few minutes away on the road to Boucey. Horse riding is available at an excellent equestrian centre about 5 or 6 minutes away, on the road to Mont St Michel.
Our house has 2 delightful bedrooms; a larger main bedroom with a comfortable bed, bedside table, lights and cupboards and there is room to put a foldout bed in if required. The other bedroom has comfortable twin beds a bedside table, lights and a place to hang your clothes.

What to See and Do
Owners Recommendations
'Dinan'
"If you prefer to visit Dinan which is one of the more unusual towns, the older part of it is on a hillside and there is a coastal area with wonderful visiting boats, cafes, shops and a tourist train which will take you on a complete tour of the old part and the riverside area, for just a few Euros. After, sit and relax in one of the coffee or tea shops or if you prefer a drink, then one of the many bars which offer a wide range of drinks for your delight."
'Normandy D-Day Landing Beaches'
"Take a day trip to the moving landing beaches or marvel at the ancient Bayeux tapestry and see history as it was portrayed all those years ago of the famous Battle of Hastings."
'Pontorson'
"You can walk to any of the numerous restaurants, bars, shops and take time out to enjoy the colourful weekly market, which is held on Wednesdays in the town square all year round. You will be spoilt for choice when you look at the local vegetables, cheeses, sausages or if you prefer seafood, then look for the delicious local mussels, fish or even the famous salt marsh lamb. Take some home and cook up a feast. You really will be spoilt for choice!
After shopping at the market drop into a speciality tea shop on the square have a coffee or sample one of the hundreds of teas available and don't forget to taste the delights of the homemade cakes or slice of one of the main supermarkets just across the road and about 150m walk away, so you can pop out for any shopping you want without the hassle of getting into the car."
'Rennes'
"If you want the city life then head off to the city of Rennes, about 50 mins drive away and a fascinating town full of charm and architectural beauty, lots of shops and of course a wide choice of cafes and restaurants. If you take an early morning drive to Rennes, you can even squeeze in a visit to Paris using the famous TGV rail. It takes about 3 hours on the train but worth it if you have not paid a visit there before."
