3 Gites (PM001692) - Les Mathes

The Gîtes are situated in a peaceful countryside location by sunflower fields and vineyards between the villages of Etaules and Les Mathes in the heart of the Arvert Peninsular. A short walk from the local boulangerie and a few minutes drive to local supermarkets and village where you will find shops including tabac, charcuterie, boulangerie, wine cave, a popular pizzeria, bistro and bank.

Close by is the pretty resort of La Palmyre with its marina, beaches, zoo, shops, market and restaurants. It is reached in less than 10 minutes by car or you can cycle on tracks through the marshes (marais) and forest also gaining access to the stunning, unspoilt sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast which are backed by dunes, forests and dedicated cycle/footpaths which connect all the local beaches. The beaches are well supervised in summer and have blue flag status.

There are many excellent daily markets and a good choice of restaurants, seafood being a great speciality here. It's a wonderful place for completely relaxing, exploring, or taking advantage of the many activities offered locally including cycling, walking, horse riding, golf, watersports, sailing, quad biking, or swing through the trees and fly along zip wires in the Indian Forest tree adventure park. 

Not far from the beautiful villages of Mornac sur Seudre and Talmont sur Gironde (Les Plus Beaux Villages de France) La Tremblade (oyster bed tours), Palais-sur-Mer, the caves at Meschers, Royan and Ile de Oléron.  Within 1 hour of Ile de Ré and the historic towns of Saintes, Cognac and La Rochelle.

Gite 1 (3 Bedrooms - sleeps 6)

Three bedroom bungalow consisting of a large 26’ open plan lounge/diner with logburner and 2 sets of patio doors opening on to a large covered terrace and garden, ideal for al-fresco dining, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and evening sunsets. The lounge is comfortably furnished with leather sofas with satellite tv (English channels), dvd and cd. We have a selection of films, games and books for your use. The spacious fully fitted kitchen is well equipped with integrated fridge-freezer and dishwasher, double oven and microwave and well stocked with crockery and utensils. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The master bedroom with double bed has French doors opening on to the garden, there is a twin bedded room and a room with a set of full size bunk beds. The bathroom has a corner bath, separate shower and twin washbasins.  Separate wc. Patio furniture, loungers and bbq.

The lounge/diner has French doors opening onto terrace and garden, ideal for al fresco dining, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and evening sunsets. There is satellite tv (English channels), dvd and cd.  There is a selection of films and books. The large bedroom has a double bed. Shower room and separate wc. Patio furniture, loungers and bbq.

Gîte 3 (sleeps 4)

Two bedroom bungalow consisting of fully fitted kitchen/diner with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The lounge is comfortably furnished with patio doors opening on to the terrace and enclosed private garden.  There is satellite tv (English channels), dvd and cd.  There is a selection of films, games and books for your use. The master bedroom has a double bed with French doors opening on to the garden and the second bedroom has twin beds.  The shower room consists of shower, basin with vanity unit and wc.  Patio furniture, loungers and bbq.
