The sandy, Blue Flag beaches of Mescher/Royan are less than 20 minutes away and a similar distance inland will bring you to the historic towns of Pons, Jonzac and Saintes.
‘Vingt-Sept’ is our home and as such is equipped and furnished to a high standard including full central heating and open fire, a spacious and well furnished living room, tv, dvd, cd. A fully equipped modern kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine. Luxury bathroom with wet room. Dining room with french doors opening onto a paved patio with a path leading through the garden to the raised decked pool area. Garden furniture and bbq provided.
The sleeping accommodation, designed to be flexible, comprises a large family room with a king size bed and a single bed, a double bedroom, a top of the range futon bed-settee in the lounge (genuinely comfortable and designed for daily use as a bed) and if required, the dining room can be converted into a single bedroom.
Cot available and linen provided.
Please note: the family room is accessed by external stairs.

"Ideally situated for those who wish to be busy, Mortagne offers sailing, fishing, horse riding, cycling and a host of attractive walks. Royan offers an excellent golf course. Surfing, wind and kite surfing are all key activities along the coast. "

"Nearest beaches are in Mescher with a choice of blue flag sandy coves (approx 15 mins). St George de Didonne and Royan offer larger sandy expanses with esplanades and shops. Beyond Palmyre (approx 45 mins) is the Cote Sauvage with miles of beautiful sand and dramatic surf. "

"Small market in Mortagne on Thursday and Sunday.
Larger Friday market in Gemozac (approx 15 mins) for local meat, veg and seafood. Vast daily market in Royan worth a visit just for the architecture and the choice, but is more expensive. Further afield La Tremblade (approx 40 mins) with a daily market is a must for fresh fish, shellfish and oysters and on Saturday a huge general market. Local Co-op in Mortagne, larger 'Super U' supermarket in Gemozac with best priced fuel.

'Places to visit'
"The heritage site of Talmont with its narrow hollihock-lined streets and ancient church is only 10 mins away.
Inland are the walled towns of Pons and Jonzac and the larger Roman town of Saintes all within about 30 mins.
Not forgetting Cognac and Bordeaux about an hour away. A ferry crosses the Gironde to the Medoc from the attractive walled town of Blaye, with perhaps a return via the ferry to Royan.
