Beautiful Logis in the Haute Saintonge, parts of which date back to the16th century, on an estate of 84 acres of woodland and pasture offering 3 lovely gites, B&B and chambres d'hotes. Vegetarian dining in the main house, heated salt water outdoor pool and sunterrace. Level field for games, woodland walks on our own paths by the river and lake. Calm, private and isolated, but only 5km from nearest bakers and supermarkets etc. There are several horse riding centres nearby, offering lessons and treks. There is a 9 hole golf course in Montendre (20 mins away) and another 9 hole course in Aubeterre (35 mins away). Within an hour of the Atlantic coast, St Emilion and Bordeaux and within reach of the Dordogne. Perfect for wine tours, lovers of Pineau and Cognac, chilling out most days and going out on trips when you have the energy! Watch out for our wild deer, boar and wonderful birds.

| Kitchen: | All 3 gites have fitted kitchens with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, toasters, mixers etc. La Marquise has a huge kitchen, while La Normande and La Fanchon have American style kitchens. Crockery and table linen is provided and all gites have indoor and outdoor dining tables and chairs. La Fanchon and La Normande have private dining terraces at the rear of the gites. Guests are welcome to book meals in the main house. B&B guests are put up in the main house, they have their own guest house and take meals in one of the 2 dining rooms. The owners are vegetarian and use their own and local products in their cuisine which is influenced by their travels in Asia. Special diets are catered for. |
| Living area: | La Marquise (the largest gite) has central heating, a wood burning stove in a separate lounge with sofas, tv and dvd player. La Fanchon and La Normande have open style kitchen/ living/ dining areas with sofas, tv and dvd players. La Fanchon and La Normande have been converted from the stable block and have large french windows opening to the south. B&B guests have their own communal guest lounge with tv and dvd player. |
| Bedrooms: | La Marquise has 4 bedrooms, 2 doubles and 2 twins (it also has a sofabed). La Normande has 4 bedrooms, 2 double and 2 twins, while La Fanchon has 1 double and 2 twin beds. All bed linen is provided and each gite has ample storage with wardrobes and chests of drawers. Cots are available on request. B&B rooms in the main house are highly appointed and there are 3 doubles and 2 family suites. |
| Bathrooms: | La Marquise has a ground floor walk-in shower, wc and bath. On the first floor is a bathroom with wc, bath and overhead shower. La Normande and La Fanchon have separate wcs and showers on the ground floor and separate toilets on the first floor, together with a bathroom with bath and overhead shower. |
| Entertainment on-site: | All gites have tv and dvd players. In the main house, we have a library and a large selection of boardgames. In the pool room there is a table tennis table. We have some bicycles for guests to use. |
| Garden and outside: | La Fanchon and La Normande have private terraces with dining furniture. La Marquise has a private outside area. All gites have barbecues and there is a main house communal barbecue area. The heated outdoor salt water swimming pool has a large sunbathing terrace with sunbeds. There are swings in the play area. There is a level field for croquet and ball games. There are miles of woodland walks taking in the river and lake on our own grounds. |
| Parking and garaging: | The estate is fenced and secure. Access is through gates with a remote control key, which is provided to guests. There is ample parking for 10 vehicles on tarmac drives at the front, rear and side of the property. |
| Suitability: | The estate is suitable for people who want to get away from it all, whether singles, groups, couples or families. The Marquise has level access for people with limited mobility, but the bathroom entrance is not currently wide enough for most wheelchair users. |
| General: | Although rural and calm, there is a choice of 3 boulangers within 5 minutes drive or 15 mins bike ride. There is also a market in different small towns on every day of the week within 25km. If you wish to bring a pet, please contact us. |
