'Around and About'
"As you might expect we are spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants. We can therefore recommend any number which are within 20 minutes drive or even nearer and have recommendations in the properties."

'Eymet'
"Every Tuesday evening in the summer there is an evening market in the medieval square. The idea is to wander about, see what is on offer and buy supper at one stall, wine from another, sit down, relax and enjoy the street entertainment. A most enjoyable experience in this beautiful 12th century Bastide. There are also a number of restaurants in Eymet, including a very popular pizzeria. This is in the centre, under the arches, so that it is possible to dine outside in the shade."

'Le Lion d'Or'
"This restaurant, about 5 minutes drive from us, is in the pretty village of Saussignac and serves very good food. There is an outside terrace and a blackboard menu from which to choose."

'Sigoules'
"Chepaou is next door to Shopi, the supermarket at Sigoules. It is not a 'posh' place but has a menu of the day as well as serving salads, steak and frites, and excellent pizzas. There is also a takeaway service. It is popular as all in all, it is a useful place for a good value meal."

Local Area and Activities

'Bergerac'
"Every Wednesday and Saturday morning Bergerac has a market which is as popular with the local residents as it is with visitors. On the 1st Sunday of each month there is a 'flea market' in the old town by the river. Boat trips are available from the old port whilst the old town has been carefully restored and is a delight to wander around. If you are on holiday in the area around the 14th July, then the 4 day festival, with a marvellous firework display on the 14th is not to be missed."

'Bikes'
"Bikes can be rented from several locations. The terrain around Les Vachers is very pretty. Vineyards, sunflowers etc, and mostly country roads, a bit hilly in places, but very enjoyable."

'Ste-Foy-la-Grande'
"Canoes and kayaks can be rented on the River Dordogne at Ste-Foy as well as a number of other locations. These can be rented by the hour or longer, so it is possible to take a picnic and spend a few hours on the river."

Markets and Shopping

'Eymet'
"A market has been held here for about 800 years and it is still popular on Thursday morning. Plenty of fresh fruit and salads, spit roasted chickens, fish, meat, you will find it all here."

'Sigoules'
"Sigoules is our nearest village and is very convenient as there is a small supermarket, which is well stocked and also has petrol. There is also a Post Office, bakery, newsagent, bank, pharmacy, doctor and dentist as well as 2 restaurants. As a result, if you need anything, it is only a 10 minute drive from us."

'Ste-Foy-la-Grande'
"Excellent market every Saturday morning with wonderful fresh salads and vegetables. In the square, under the arches, you can buy a croissant from the bakery and eat it, sitting outside with a coffee from the bar next door. "
