Owners Recommendations

Eating Out

'Creperie D'Enclos'
"Next to the church in Pleyben, this is the best creperie in the region by some margin. You won't believe what can be done with a simple crepe or how tasty it can be!"

'Creperie Port Launay'
"A 2 minute walk along the quay brings you to the local creperie serving a range of Breton dishes"

'Le Miniscule'
"Excellent local dishes, especially fish and seafood at very reasonable prices. Just 2 miles away in the middle of Chateaulin "

'Le Poisson Blanc'
"White fish is certainly a speciality of this traditional French restaurant - but it has a full range of excellent food as well as a conservatory overlooking the River Aulne at nearby Pont Coblant"

'Les Dunes'
"Brilliant food in a stunning setting on the beach at St-Anne-la-Palud. Lunchtime with a chilled bottle of white and seafood or evenings for the full monty."

Local Area and Activities

'Bay of Douarnenez'
"If it's beaches you like, then you can choose one a day for a fortnight and still not have seen them all. The nearest is Pentrez with a 2.5 kilometre flat sandy beach plus shops and cafes. St-Anne-la-Palud has one bar in the middle of 2km of sand and a Michelin starred restaurant at the southern end."

'Coast path'
"If you like the South West Coast path or the Pembrokeshire Coast path in the UK, the coastal paths in near Port Launay equal or surpass their British cousins. Don't miss Pointe de Dinan on the Crozon peninsula."

'Oceanopolis, Brest'
"Rated one of the best aquaria in the world, this is a good family day out 20 minutes north of the apartment."

'Quimper'
"The medieval city of Quimper has ancient buildings, including its imposing cathedral, modern shops and a variety of art galleries and museums. You can take a boat trip down the River Odet or even the TGV to Paris for a day!"

'River Aulne'
"Outside the windows of the apartment the Aulne flows past. It is a river which is also part of the Nantes-Brest Canal. You can walk or cycle for as many miles as you feel up to through beautiful countryside without ever going up a hill. It is also said to be one of the best salmon fishing spots in France."

Markets and Shopping

'Chateaulin'
"Thursday is market day in nearby Chateaulin. Everything you need from frocks to fromage."

'Daoulas'
"Sunday market in Daoulas is especially good on food - both traditional French meat, veg, fruit and cake - but also more exotic Vietnamese cuisine. Old postcards, clothing and much else also a feature."

'Leclerc Hypermarket'
"Only 2 miles from the apartment in Chateaulin, this is the main port of call for all your needs - especially food and wine. "

'Quimper'
"Twenty minutes down the motorway and you are in medieval Quimper. Everything is catered for here - from the indoor covered market to the upmarket boutiques, with pavement cafes to pause at between purchases."
