La Grange is close to the major Leclerc supermarket - only 5 minutes away and there is a good mixture of shops, banks and an excellent choice of restaurants in and around Figeac.

La Grange is close to the pilgrimage route from La Puy-en-Velay to Santiago Compostela. Consequently, there are many historic religious sites in the area such as Rocamadour, Conques, Cahors and St Cirque Lapopie. At the heart of the Lot Valley is the limestone country of the Causses du Quercy Regional National Park the domain of water and stone and of marvellous caves such as the Gouffre de Padirac and the Grottes du Pech Merle - a ramblers paradise. The region is widely regarded as a gastronomic paradise with its cuisine based on truffles, duck, goose, foie gras, many different fruits and walnuts and walnut oil. The deep red wines of Cahors were known to the Romans and the vineyards of the region are all nearby La Grange and are well worth a visit.

Literary, theatre and music festivals are widespread throughout the summer months, including the Cahors Festival of Blues in July and the famous Cahors and St-Cere music festivals in July and August.

There are also plenty of sporting and other activities nearby La Grange. There are 4 excellent golf courses within 45 minutes and 2 tennis clubs also within easy distance. For the fisherman, fishing is available anywhere throughout the season subject to permits, which may easily be obtained locally. Canoeing and kayaking are available on both the Lot and Cele Rivers. The hills and the countryside around Figeac are ideal for walkers and cyclists and there are a number of walks which can be taken from the house. In 2008, Stage 8 of the Tour de France will start in Figeac on Saurday 12 July.

Together with its spectacular gorges, lush valleys, and historic towns, pilgrimage sites and caves, as well as the many sporting and action activities nearby, the Lot Valley and La Grange offer plenty to see and do.

Location and activities:	La Grange is situated in magnificent walking country, with many walks able to be started from the house. There are 3 excellent golf courses within easy distance and there is an excellent tennis club available to visitors also nearby. Fishing licences may be obtained locally and there are many excellent and available fishing locations
Bedrooms:	On the ground floor of the bedroom wing there are 2 double bedrooms both of which can accommodate an additional bed and one twin bedroom. On the upper floor there are also 2 double bedrooms and one twin room. There is also a baby's room complete with cot, bedding and changing table. A second cot is also available if required. Each bedroom has its own bathroom or shower room and independent access on to the central courtyard. Egyptian cotton bed linen is provided and beds are made up for guests' arrival. For guests staying more than one week, fresh bed linen is provided for subsequent weeks
Bathrooms:	Five of the bathrooms have a bath, overhead shower, basin and wc. The sixth bedroom has a shower only with basin and wc. Bath towels and hand towels are provided and, again, for guests staying for more than one week, fresh towels are provided for subsequent weeks. Hair dryers are also provided in each bathroom. Guests are however, asked to provide their own swimming towels and towels for removing colourants.
Kitchen:	The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything and more than guests could want on holiday. It contains a cooker, large fridge, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee-maker, and is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses and kitchenware for 14 people. Tea- towels are also provided
Dining:	The dining area has a table and chairs to seat 14 people and a highchair is also provided. A good supply of plastic glassware and jugs are also available for use at the swimming pool
Living area:	Although the gite is one long building, the living area, comprising the sitting and dining areas and the kitchen, are separate from the sleeping accommodation. The sitting room has large picture window doors and is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs and includes a large screen satellite tv providing access to BBC and other international channels, dvd and cd players as well as a good selection of holiday reading and games for guests' enjoyment
Entertainment on-site :	Table tennis, badminton and boules are all available for guests' use and enjoyment
Outside :	The 10 x 5m exclusive guest swimming pool with its large sunterrace adjoins a large garden, also exclusive to guests. There is also an outside covered eating terrace with a bbq, again exclusive for guests' use
General:	There are exclusive laundry and drying facilities situated on the ground floor of the bedroom wing, comprising washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board. There are also plentiful external drying facilities. Peter and Carolyn Smith, the resident English owners, greet guests on arrival and offer a welcome drink and are available as required to help guests make their holiday as enjoyable as possible while respecting their privacy.
