Owners Recommendations

Eating Out

'Eat like a Queen'
"Le Dauphin, at Breuil-en- Auge is nearby. Elizabeth II ate here when she visited Deauville and her photo looks proudly over diners. Sunday lunch is incredibly good value. "

'Too Many to Choose'
"Honfleur is awash with lovely restaurants - from moules and chips to a full gourmet blow-out. Alternatively, have a drink in one of the bars overlooking the yachting harbour and dream which yacht should be yours. "

Local Area and Activities

'Cerza Zoo'
"My younger visitors have loved visiting Cerza Zoo, 10 minutes away, where many animals from giraffes to tigers roam around in enormous grounds. A lot of people don't like zoos anymore but this one certainly seems to be popular."

'Monet's Garden'
"Monet's Garden and house at Giverny is one of the top attractions when visiting this part of Normandy. "

'Rouen'
"At the weekends, early morning antique and food markets bring visitors to Rouen but also the Faience Museum is well worth a visit and of course, the imposing Cathedral of Notre Dame."

'Sandy Beaches'
"The resort of Trouville has a long, sandy beach overlooked by imposing Edwardian-style villas. A great place to take children. "

'The Calvados Distillery Cormeilles'
"In the autumn, the smell of apples permeates the whole town, when cartloads of local apples are delivered to the calvados distillery and production of the famous liqueur commences. Guided tours in English can be taken all year, together with the opportunity to sample and buy!"

'World War II'
"The landing beaches are an hour away, as is the town of Bayeux which has an impressive tank museum. The Peace Museum at Caen is a must, which has a very moving account of D-day and its aftermath."

Markets and Shopping

'A Market for Every Day'
"There is a market every day in this part of Normandy. Pont Audemer on a Friday is particularly recommended, such wonderful fresh produce from fish to organic vegetables and don't forget the bread and cakes!"
