Fully restored, Maquignon is set in the tranquil countryside of Charente, yet only 1 hour to Bordeaux, Royan and La Rochelle, 30 mins to Angoulême, Cognac, St-Emilion and Aubeterre, 2 hours from Poitiers, Futuroscope and Biarritz. Adjoins National Park. Woodland and 2 acre fishing lake adjoining property. New in 2007 see website for details. We have 2 houses, large by English standards. Accommodation on one level so ideal for handicapped visitors.

THE WILLOWS. One twin and 1 double bedroom (both en suite). Lounge with double bed, 3 piece suite and cot. Video player. Large, fully-fitted kitchen (2 fridges, microwave).

THE VINES. Has similar, with one bathroom.

Shared laundry room with washing machine, sink and wc for pool.

We do not accept animals. The houses, built 250-300 years ago, are always cool in the summer and are non smoking. South facing. Set in over an acre of landscaped gardens with lawns sweeping down to the 12m swimming pool (fully alarmed), which has a roman end with steps for easy access. Each house has its own terrace, and ample garden furniture and sunloungers are provided, also a bbq, childrens bikes etc. Property fully fenced for security. Adult bike hire available. The fishing lake in the grounds is stocked with carp up to 30lbs (fishing experience necessary). Fishing at discretion of owner.
