Languedoc Roussillon boasts a huge variety of waterside settings - its Mediterranean coast and sandy beaches, rocky creeks, clear lagoons, lakes, canals, rivers, hot spring pools and even subterreanean streams! Not unsurprisingly, there are numerous watersports centres and schools around the region from where you can water ski, sail, windsurf, kayak, jet ski, white water raft and scuba dive. For a completely different experience, you could take a look at the sea water jousting - joutes nautiques - which take place every summer, normally in August, and are based on medieval style contests but on rowing boats rather than horseback!
