The Morbihan region is dominated by a coastline dotted with over 40 islands, so no holiday here would be complete without a boat trip or two. Visit unspoilt natural habitats like Ile d'Arz for a day swimming and hiking or see the incredible Neolithic burial chamber on the island of Gavrinis.
The walled town of Vannes is well worth a visit, stroll around the picturesque streets before dining at one of the marina side restaurants with local shellfish a speciality. Children will love to see the nearby aquarium at Parc du Golfe and the Jardin aux Papillon (butterfly garden) is a treat for all the family.
Try to catch an evening concert at the beautiful chateau du Suscinio at Arzon, or simply relax and enjoy the mild climate with a glass of wine or local cider on the terrace of your gite.
