This was our third visit to this property and we have never had cause for complaint which is due in no small part to the Hosting Skills of the owners but also to the team of support workers they have established around the property over the years i.e. cleaner , housekeeper, pool man etc. This is a large quirky style property with stunning flowers everywhere, ample seating (both inside and out) , good showers and bathrooms and light and airy bedrooms which are also large compared to perhaps more modern style villas which we find to be on the small side. The pool is very large and kept clean with crystal clear water. This place has charm by the bucket load and you will not be disappointed in its "frenchness". The local team keep it lovely and clean and are on hand if you need any help or advice ( psst..listen to the pool man as he knows where all the great sights are and where to park hassle free even in peak season). The problem you will have is trying to drag yourself away from the villa! Douzillac is a delightful sleepy town but you should give it a chance. Get to know the Patrons at the local bar where we have traditionally ordered our daily bread, croissants, etc and they even gave us a bottle of milk for a cup of tea in the villa when we ran out! Go on Google maps and look at the place from an Ariel view and you will see the chateau, gardens and don't be afraid to speak to the villagers as they are all so friendly. There is a lot to explore!

The advert very accurately described the house and the owner provided additional information whenever we asked. The house is well maintained - it's definitely lived-in, and the original owner who converted the property from a barn was very fond of ply, so definitely a '70s feel to the interior. We met the cleaner when we first arrived and she is very thorough and conscientious. Communications from the owner and customer service in general was outstanding. I would definitely recommend the property to a friend or relative - there's bags of space and six bedrooms, so ideal for a large group who don't necessarily want to be on top of each other.

There's a great, down-to-earth restaurant in the village, where an immense 13 euro lunch menu will do you for the day - skip breakfast before you go. The pool by the house was great and kept very clean, and there are lots of chairs/beds to relax on. The house is very well equipped - dishwasher, washing machine, etc. We took our dog - she loved chewing her ball on the lawn. All of the neighbours, I think, had dogs, and all of the dogs bark - just in an enthusiastic, neighbourly way - so we always knew if someone was passing on the lane.
