We stayed in Coeur de Lion as a family of adults, this house certainly did not disappoint and looked even better than in the pictures. It was easy to find and although it is rural you are only a 10 minute drive or so to the local village which had everything we needed for the week.

The pool at the home was amazing, so big and allowed us all to use inflatables with plenty of room. We chose Coeur de Lion for a quiet holiday away from our busy lives and it was complete bliss and so peaceful. The house itself is very large, the beds were comfortable with plenty of spare bedding and pillows. There is no need for your to take towels either as you're provided lots of pool towels which was handy. There's plenty of seating around the pool which is comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with all the utensils you need.

We were very lucky with the weather mid September with no rain at all and temperatures up to 37 degrees but not humid.

The house managers visited the morning after we arrived and were very pleasant, they provided us with some history of the area and were able to advise on times of local markets, shops and places to visit. The locals were very pleasant and welcoming. You're not that far from Bergerac either, approx a 40 min drive and there are lots of shops there.

Our stay was better than we could ever imagine, we spent the week using the pool and the sunset from the terrace is spectacular. Thank you for an amazing time, we will definitely be returning!

Lovely, spacious property in very quiet location. Nice pool and outside living area. A car is essential., nearest amenaties are a good 45 min walk, along steep, narrow and unlit roads.
Ideal if you just want to get away from it all and enjoy the pool, bbq and countryside.

Owner response

Thank you for taking time to review the house. We agree with your comment about needing a car. It was just a shame you didn't ask our House Manager to give the house an extra clean when you arrived, or take up my offer to send the cleaners back to the house during your stay. We would like to welcome you back to Coeur de Lion. Best Regards Amanda

Spent a lovely week in this house near Le Bugue. The house was excellent, really large and well equipped. The pool area was beautiful and there were several areas to sit and relax outside.
The location was very rural and a car is essential. Beautiful setting high up on a hill - sunsets were stunning.

A fantastic property that certainly exceeded our expectations.
Well equipped and in a fantastic location, you won't be disappointed in booking this property. We were two families with mainly grown up children and had a fantastic time.
Great local support too.
