It offers comfortable, roomy accommodation for 2-6 people. The lounge features a magnificent traditional fireplace which augments the central heating during the winter months. Outside there is a large garden with plenty of lawns providing room for the bbq and outdoor furniture beside the pool.
Mature trees provide shade when needed and the garden is carefully tended by the owners, who live next door. The local area is renowned for it's natural history with a variety of diverse habitats for wildflowers, especially orchids, birds and butterflies. We are both very keen on natural history and are only too happy to offer any help or advice.
The wide open skies provide superb sunsets and ideal opportunities for stargazing.
Vegetables and fresh herbs are available from the garden in season along with soft fruits and apples and pears.

Lannet is situated on a very quiet country road, with very little passing traffic, some 1.2km from a main road, enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside yet having easy access to Brantome and Nontron.
Walking through the surrounding woods and fields is right on the doorstep.
Brantome has an amazing selection of restaurants, cafes and bars.
After 30 years in the tourist industry, a restaurant in Devon and holiday cottages in Cornwall, we left UK in 2007 for Asturias, we subsequently moved here in 2010 having fallen in love with Brantome. We both love the countryside, natural history and gardening and the peace and quiet of our surroundings here.
|Year property purchased||2010|
|Why this location?||Space, peace, wildflowers especially Orchids, birds and myriads of insects. Easy access to Brantome, excellent local markets, the weather's not bad either!|
|Unique benefits of property||A tranquil spot surrounded by woods and fields, plenty of walks from the doorstep. An excellent spot for birds, over 60 species recorded in the garden so far and close to 300 different wildflowers, not to mention the butterflies!|
Nontron has an interesting circular walk to discover it's history and explore the beautiful gardens. Take lunch at the hotel Plisson and then visit the knife factory to see the famous Nontron knives being made, follow this with a visit to the chocolate factory, if you have the stamina!
Known as "The Venice of Perigord" Brantome is a beautiful and very popular town. It is therefore no surprise that boat trips abound here, either drift gently along with a guided tour or take a canoe if you're more adventurous! There is plenty to explore here and many bars and restaurants for refreshments. A weekly market on a Friday is very popular.
A variety of options here, you can canoe from Brantome down to Bourdeilles or be transported upstream and then paddle down to Brantome.
An amazing underground cavern full of history with cave paintings and even a chamber with scratches made by bears on the walls.
In the picturesque village of Bourdeilles this restaurant has a delightful open air courtyard where you can enjoy live music whilst dining.
Brantome, about 10kms. away has around 15 restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets.
An historical site, a village which was the scene of a mass execution by the Nazis and is preserved in the state it was left as a memorial to those who died. Very moving.
A Wednesday market with the very best of the area, market stalls everywhere and you can find everything you want from rabbits to grandfather clocks!
This site has an interesting circular walk around an area of outstanding natural history interest. It is a dry, hot (in the summer time) location with a variety of southern European/Mediterranean flora and fauna.
A superb hotel and restaurant on the banks of the river in Brantôme. A must for "special occasions" with an excellent 29€ menu for lunch and dinner served on the riverside terrace. Impeccable service.
A delightful riverside restaurant in Brantome with a varied and interesting menu. A regular haunt of ours.
Although only opened in 2015 this has proved very popular with our visitors. A small, very French restaurant with an excellent 4 course lunch for €12,50. You'll love it!
Come during the season and you're welcome to join us to see Brive play at home, it is a very colourful and noisy occasion!
A day out for the more energetic. Travel along the former railway line under your own power and at your own speed! Picnic sites and loos en route.
What a great find - Jon and Sally couldn't have been better hosts also providing great knowledge of the local area. The gite was exactly as expected from the details and tucked away in a very quiet spot for relaxing but only 10-15 minutes from a couple of lovely towns to shop for your essentials. Fully equipped with your own fantatic pool and a balcony on which to eat your evening meal whilst the sun sets, we found we had everything to let us have a wonderful holiday.
The nearest town Brantome is so pretty with enough restaurants and shops to choose from but remaining unspoiled - really worth hiring some canoes to appreciate the river and area.
We had such a great time that we hope to return again.
Lovely gite with excellent facilities. Jon and Sally owners, on site for any queries but discreet enough for you to relax, enjoy the large magnificent garden and welcoming pool. The property enjoys peaceful surroundings with lovely views towards fields and woodland. Lannett has all good living facilities, although a tall person may find it difficult to stand full height in some parts of the three bedrooms. These have Velux windows and fans provided for your comfort, along with good storage Maison Lannet is situated along a quiet road accessed from the main road between Nontron and Brantome. The journey by car to both of these towns takes 14 minutes either way - Nontron has Super U for your supermarket/fuel needs and Brantome offers a more historical beauty, with a beautiful town and Abbey. Restaurants are rated highly in brochures, however if you fancy a half hour drive to Lisle, you can enjoy wonderful food at the Le Moulin du Pont (Jon and Sally recommendation) situated on a river with viewable wildlife. All in all, a lovely venue to retreat to for a calming peaceful break. Ps. Dogs and children welcome. Looking forward to returning with the former mentioned!
A perfect holiday! Lannet had everything we needed for our family - Sally and Jon the perfect hosts with plenty of tips of where to visit, Brantome with some fantastic restaurants (highly recommend a lazy evening supper in La Guinguette), Nontron a short drive for supermarkets, the lake at St Estephe, caves, markets and the pool the perfect way to keep the children entertained.
The house was spotless, well equipped and we really couldn't have asked for more. Even with 2 young children, we left relaxed and refreshed!
We had an amazing holiday with a very warm welcome on arrival. Dally & Jon had provided water, wine, bread & a delicious homemade quiche which was simply brilliant!
Their 2 dogs are so friendly and playful and the owners were always available if we needed help or advice.
The property is very well equipped and in a beautiful setting with lovely gardens and sensational views. The Gite was very clean and in my opinion the photos on this site don't do it full justice.
We had very good weather but there are plenty of games in the Gite in case of rainy days.
Nontron is about a 10min drive for shopping.
Overall a wonderful holiday and we look forward to returning again very soon. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a holiday in the Dordogne. One of the best Gite holidays we have ever had!
