Villa Orchidee is one of 3 holiday homes at Le Four a sel, a beautiful riverside property beside the river Vezere . It features 15 acres of private grounds , easy access to amenities and sites and onsite facilities for all ages , no need to go sightseeing everyday. Shops ,located in Montignac are a mere 5 minute drive and tourist attractions just 30 minutes away.
You can walk to a bar/restaurant where you can buy fresh baked croissants and baquettes to enjoy an al fresco breakfast in the covered terrace just outside the house.
This childfriendly renovated farmhouse has 6 en suite bedrooms suitable for 3/4 families to share or for 5 couples wishing to holiday together. There is a 7th bedroom, without a private bathroom, that is available on request for a small supplement.
Accommodation comprises 2 triple rooms ; 2 double rooms and a family suite: consisting of 2 rooms that interconnect, all rooms are ensuite. The open plan dining room/lounge is very spacious -it can seat up to 30 guests! There is a flat screen TV, with English satellite or French channels , a 3 seater settee and an armchair . All rooms have electric heaters and there is a woodburner stove for the cooler months.
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with 2 fridges. Outside, the covered terrace has table & chairs for al fresco dining and BBq's whatever the weather and a seating area where you can relax while you watch your children play table tennis in the covered play area just opposite. Enjoy endless games of Boules/Petanque in the large 350 sqm courtyard .
The area around the houses, childproof swimming pool and garden is fenced to keep the children safe.The pool is also fenced and alarmed .
Onsite facilities include: Private fishing on our river frontage, a children's playground with swings, slide, a football field and several badminton areas, table tennis, free wi-fi, a courtyard for boules, and lots of parking.
We have 2 other houses: Villa Hibiscus, ref: AD003240, which sleeps 8 and has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a cottage, Villa Mimosa, which has 2 bedrooms ,sleeps 5 guests. If Villa Orchidee is not available, the option is to rent these 2 other houses as they can sleep 13 guests. All our houses can be rented individually or together to accommodate up to 30 guests, ideal group accommodation for large gatherings like birthdays, family reunions or other special events.
A 30% deposit is required to confirm the booking and the balance is due12 weeks before arrival. There is an end of stay cleaning charge payable on arrival and a security deposit required 4 weeks before arrival.
Spacious fully equipped kitchen with large 5 ring gas stove, cooker and oven, 2 fridges, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, crockery and dinnerware, pots and pans and dishwasher. The dining room can seat up to 30 guests (set up when the 3 houses are rented by one group). Otherwise, there is seating for up to 16 guests.
Two washing machines in the laundry room outside and an extra freezer in the barn.
The living/dining room is spacious (8 x 9m). It has a 3 seater settee, armchair, tv with English satellite channels and dvd player.
There are 2 triple rooms with a double bed and a single bed, 2 double bedrooms, 1 family room which consists of a double bedroom with an interconnecting door to the 2nd bedroom with 3 single beds. A cot can be added here and all rooms are en suite.
We have a 7th bedroom with a double bed, available on request for a small supplement.
Rooms are on the ground and 1st floor. Two rooms have direct access to the courtyard and covered terrace.
All rooms are ensuite, with a shower enclosure, washbasin and toilet.
All rooms have electric heaters and there is a wood burning stove in the lounge.

Wi-fi inside the house and in hotspots around the property. The childproof swimming pool, which is outdoor and not heated, is shared with the 2 other houses at the property. If the 3 houses are rented together by one group, you have exclusive use of the pool and all the facilities on-site.

One of France's most important prehistoric sites , the walls hold Beautifully subtle paintings and engravings of animals (15,000 renderings) , sophisticated artwork painted by prehistoric man 20,000 years ago. The original cave was discovered by chance in 1940 by 4 teenagers.
