|Why this location?||It is a beautiful area with lots to see and do, also my parents lived in the area so we knew it well.|
|Unique benefits of property||The house is close enough to many local attractions but at the same time is rural and peaceful with ample places to relax in the sun or shade.|
The best chateaux locally are Beynac, Castelnaud, and Les Milandes. There are markets on most days, but Sarlat on Saturday is the biggest which fills most of the centre of this beautiful medieval town. At Marqueyssac near Domme there are 22h of gardens with superb views over the Dordogne valley opposite Castelnaud, which is one of the Hundred years War sites, with an excellent museum. Canoeing on the river is great fun for all ages and there are canoe stations all along the river, but the one we usually use is at Enveaux on the opposite of the river from Lapeyre.
We had a truly amazing time at Lapeyre. The property was just perfect, a beautiful, peaceful setting overlooking the Dordogne valley, yet within easy reach of so many special sites of the Dordogne. I can't recommend this property highly enough, it's truly a magical place and we can't wait to return.
Tranquil, homely. comfortable and French!
Great place to chill or as a base for more.
Very comfortable relaxing house with lovely outdoor heated pool. Very suitable for 3 generation families as lower floor provides separate accommodation for grandparents. Good location, very close to Dordogne River, and close to Sarlat, Domme and historic sites. Recommend farm at bottom of hill which does picnic style food on Monday evenings during July/August. Good fun. This was our second year at Lapayere and would recommend it for comfort and location. Good value for money.
A super gite. Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. Perfectly positioned for many visits and activities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
