The gite property is unique as the front part of the typically old town house end terraced was built c 1800, the rear part being built into rock in more recent times with modern techniques and gas radiator central heating as required. In the 1800's the local area surrounding Brantome was thriving with the demand for stone and building properties.
This Brantome property has 3 double bedrooms each with twin beds, 2 lounges, 2 showers, 2 toilets within the town house across 3 floors. The small riverside garden opposite the house runs along the road and riverside, and on and off road covered parking, wi-fi and two bicycles are provided with the property. The house is a real tardis, very deceptive in size, quirky yet lovely and comfortable. The rooms are bright and well proportioned. When exceptionally hot outside the pleasant internal temperature is exactly what makes this place so lovely. In the cooler winter period the gas radiator heating system quickly warms the temperature and is controlled via a schedule we set up and and adjust to your requirements , just let us know..
Whether morning, afternoon or evening, chill out and enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony looking at the superb views across to the village or river to the park.
Whether you wish to stay in France at one location or travel, Brantome in the Dordogne region is a real must for your itinerary. Many tourist spots are within an easy drive and the house book itemises these for you.

|Why this location?||Brantome is without doubt one of the most beautiful villages set in a great area we have come across. It maintains it charm and romance whilst offering all the modern day conveniences. Brantome offers easy access and good routes to many local area locations and attractions. You will not see everything in one, two or even three weeks but you will have a fantastic time exploring or relaxing and many of of guests have returned again and again.|
|Unique benefits of property||Firstly it's unique for Brantome, it enjoys one of the best views, the size inside is like a tardis, old outside and modern inside. Rooms are generous and beds are not crammed in, quite the reverse. Within very easy level walking distance of the centre you can enjoy your holiday to the full. The town house gite has a lovely balcony and massive top floor lounge with attention to detail for guests requirements.
As one of our guest commented: - "The home was perfect. It exceeded our expectations, The owner had anticipated all our needs from his detailed book of instructions and local maps to the umbrellas and picnic supplies. The garage is a huge cave into which part of the home extends and the upper extra living room has a balcony overlooking the river and our own private garden. It is an easy 5-10 mins.walk into the beautiful town past the Abbey to the shops. We visited wineries, castles and towns but always looked forward to our return "home " We highly recommend this home to all.
We have provided a complete list and photos of places to visit that are within walking or driving with distances. These are held at the property for use during your stay.
We are situated very well for day visiting Bergerac, Perigueux, Limoges, Angouleme, Sarlat la Caneda, Rocamadour, Bordeaux, Royan areas.
Can't beat the location
Overall a super place to have a holiday. The location overlooking the park and river and views to the Abbey are wonderful. The house is partially built into the rock face, so some of the bedrooms are at the back making them nice and cool in the heat.
Brian provides a great deal of info and assistance and it was really useful referring to his blue folder - we found places we otherwise might have missed. The house is clean and tidy and comfortable, and the garden next to the river is a real bonus. We would happily stay here again.

We had a wonderful week staying in Maison Brantome which is perfectly placed in this delightful town. We enjoyed the kayaking, pic-nicing in the park opposite, the weekly markets and water jousting! We also took the opportunity to visit Lascaux which was brilliant - just over an hours drive. We were a bit sad that the bikes were not available for our stay, but everything is within walking distance. Jill & Brian (and local neighbours) were extremely helpful when we had issues with our car not starting. We would recommend Maison Brantome highly to everyone.
So glad you had a fab week in Brantome and at Maisonbrantome. Sorry about the bikes but that looks to being sorted. I called Claude and thanked him for his help with your car. We hope to see you again in the future.

This is the third time we have stayed in this lovely house and once again it gave us everything we could wish for and more. It is comfortable and well equipped but its biggest plus is the location. It is so nice to be able to walk into town and not have use the car. We enjoyed meals in several of the many restaurants in town and all of them in walking distance.
The extreme temperatures during our visit were not a problem because as the house is built into the cave it is lovely and cool when we needed to get out of the sun. We also made use of the balcony which gave us shelter from the sun and terrific views over the park and river.
The house is also well placed for some lovely walks through woodland and country side , easy to get to as the pathway is just a hundred yards along the road from the front door.
Brian and Jill are always on hand if we need them and have given us good advice and great recommendations for days out.
We love Brantome and Maison Brantome is the perfect place to stay and enjoy this wonderful town.
Thank you Brian and Jill, we will be back!!
