Restored tranquil 200 year old farmhouse with pool. This villa is in a rural setting.

This old stone farmhouse is set in its own courtyard, situated in a quiet hamlet with beautiful views over its 9 acres of meadow and woodland.

On the ground floor of Foncene Farmhouse there is a large dining room and salon, both with wood burning stoves, a modern kitchen, utility room, and wet room with shower and wc. There is a covered terrace for outside dining and entertaining. Upstairs are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is a modern salt water pool, 10 x 5m, with roman steps, patio and alarm. The pool is bordered by a lavender hedge on one side and many ornamental shrubs on the other. There is covered parking for two cars, and a wet weather play area with games.

This region is one of the most interesting areas of the Dordogne. Foncene is close to the Dordogne River with its beaches, canoeing and river side attractions. There are many historic sites to visit, which include fortified towns and chateaux. The famous Lascaux Caves are not far away. This is a magical place!

There are two interconnected living rooms, both about 5x5m and with log burning stoves. The dining room has a large table and 2 sofas, 1 a bed settee for occasional use.

There are 4 bedrooms, 2 with double beds, 1 with twin beds and 1 with single bed and cot. The cot can be replaced by a folding bed if needed.

Why this location? We fell in love with the area, being committed Francophiles! It was a major project for us. The original estimate of two years to complete became over five. However, it was worth it.

Lovely old building with much character and many nooks and crannies. In a great part of the region for accessing different activities and sights. Furnishings comfortable, if a little dark. Great pool. Owners very pleasant and welcoming. We would be very happy to go again.
