About this property

Character farmhouse surrounded by vineyards & views. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Only 2km away from the Dordogne river, nestled between the medieval towns of Bergerac and Ste Foy La Grande, Les Marais stands tranquilly on 3.5 acres of private grounds, away from roads and surrounded by vines, orchards, wildlife and stunning views of lush forests and wineries across the Dordogne Valley.

The 'Grange d'Hibou' (Barn of the Owl), is named after the beautiful owl that lives here.  The two bedroom farmhouse is 1 of 3 luxury houses at Les Marais, each with private pool ( Spring Bank Holidaty to Oct), sun deck, patio and gardens. Originally part of a working winery, this impressive old farmhouse has been lovingly restored to include all modern comforts for convenient living but without detracting from its original charm and character. The house is spacious and comfortable but retains many of its original features.

Excellently located for exploring the south west of France with its vibrant market villages and medieval bastide towns, and of course, we are in the middle of the world famous Bergerac wine region with St Emilion and Bordeaux close by too.
